Are Muslims right about Paul?

but you just defined prophecy as speaking Gods word. I speak Gods word every day. Therefore, based on you definition, i am a prophet.

Perhaps your definition of 'prophecy' is not quite right??
But you don't speak authoritatively because you don't hold the office. You can speak prophetically, but without the recognized authority of a prophet.

If it actually claimed to be something other than it is, or was dishonest in its intent, would be a great place to start.
Ask and it shall be given. This and other passages suggest prayers will be responded to favorably.Ask the pious parents of a child who died how prayer worked out for them. And how about the passage where Jesus says a generation will not pass away before he returns?

Prayer isn't a Christmas list of stuff we want. Prayer is a process of noticing God and drawing near to God.
The gospels are theological stories -- not purveyors of fact.

I think people are missing the point of why God selected the Isrealites in the first place... they were selected, not because they were special, but because Abraham was Gods friend. God chose Abraham to bring the Messiah into the world for the purpose of saving 'mankind'

He was not merely saving the descendants of Abraham... he was saving the whole of mankind. If the Jewish people or any other people dont want that salvation, then God is not obligated to them. But the fact is, the door is open to EVERYONE and no one has 'ownership' of God, so all this angst about not being the 'chosen people' anymore really doesnt make a lot of sense.

No nation is more special then any other nation.

Jesus was put to death because the people who killed him were murderers and full of hate, pride and bigotry.

There was no justification for murdering an innocent man and they were acting against the law of Moses when they put an innocent man to death. Their lack of fear of God is astounding and those who support their actions should ask themselves why too support the murder of an innocent man. One of the 10 commandments is "you must not murder" Anyone who thinks its ok to do so does not have God or his righteousness in their heart.

Jesus proved that he was speaking from God. He had miraculous gifts to prove it...just as Moses was given similar miraculous gifts to prove God was with him.

Jesus prophecy about the destruction of Jerusalem came true less then 40 years later... The fulfillment of that prophecy should have sparked a major shift among the Jewish people back then. That was a clear indicator that Jesus really was the promised Messiah and they should have repented and put their faith in him as God wanted them to.

God has never forced anyone to believe and practice obedience to him. But he has certainly shown his willingness to cast off those who reject him and his messengers.
Read your bible again. God tried several times to save the Jews from themselves by punishing them. What was the great flood for if not to force Jews to stop disobeying God? What was the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah for if not to force the Jews to stop their sinning ways? What was the scattering of Jews from Babylon for if not to stop them from showing contempt for God?

Jesus was a delusional rabbi who thought he was anointed by God. But he got a rude awakening when he found himself arrested, tried and convicted for blasphemy. On the cross he felt betrayed and realized he was not dreaming anymore.

Matthew 27:46 About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" (which means "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?").

This represents nothing more than baseless twisting of the texts in order to discredit a religion you don't believe in.

the Jews did not exist before the flood. Abraham had not even been born. Nor did they exist before the Sodom and Gomorrah incident.

This is clearly -- clearly -- nothing more than a troll post, and it's against forum rules.

Stop. It.

I wouldnt worry too much... the poster just claimed that the Jews were punished with Noahs flood because they were disobedient. Im sure there is a 'complex' for such claims too LOL

According to Strong's:

"Definition: prophecy, prophesying; the gift of communicating and enforcing revealed truth."

the full defintion in strongs is:

4394 prophēteía (from 4396/prophḗtēs, "prophet," which is derived from 4253/pró, "before" and 5346/phēmí, "make clear, assert as a priority") – properly, what is clarified beforehand; prophecy which involves divinely-empowered forthtelling (asserting the mind of God) orforetelling (prediction).

Prophets in the bible gave the messages they heard from God. Pro (meaning before) indicates that what is revealed has not yet happened....ie, the revealing of the information comes before the event being revealed.

Prophecy is advanced warning of something that is coming at a future time.

Do the gospels ever say that?Where do they claim to be factually untrue?Where do they say they are just stories to bring people closer to God?Did the gospel writers see through a glass darkly?Hinduism among other faiths has plenty of stories to bring people closer to God?Is the Bible just a different format but the same basic message?

They don't have to explicitly "say" what they are. Their nature and content are easily determined through an application of one or more critical studies.
