Are Satan and Hell as bad they say?

Lucifer wanted to be and equal with god and essentialy revolted against him. So if Lucifer was trying to be more like god then why would he have us burning for eternity in hell when he wanted to become our savior the same as god?

Who told you that? Thats what they tell information-absorbing young minds so they stand in line and do not question the absurd position the church maintains about many many things. Satan represent evil to most people, simply so they have something to blame their faults on. Instead of accepting that we as humans are not perfect, they wipe their slate clean by finding someone or something else to blame. What great morals.

Friend J-Train,

Are Satan and Hell as bad they say?

It is the same as it is HERE-NOW.

Heaven too can be realised HERE-NOW and only after that one can understand what they are in relation to each other.

Lucifer tried to create another paradise, and ended up creating hell, I think is what happened.

He doesn't want us to suffer. He took pity on us and gave us fire, for crying out loud! (Lucifer and Prometheus are the same beings in my opinion) It's just that in trying to help us, he ends up hurting us. Though with the whole "fire" thing, the ill that caused was really just Zeus being Zeus.

Apart from the Roman myth that Lucifer (Morning Star) being the son of Aurora (Greek Eos; goddess of Dawn), there were no such person as Lucifer being Satan or the Devil. That was simply Jerome's translation of Son of Morning.

Lucifer is only mention once by name in the bible (in Isaiah 14:12), and only in Latin translation (Jerome's Vulgate Bible) and some of the English translations that persisted on using Lucifer. It what you get, when you have silly Christian authors translating the Hebrew Scriptures and twisting the words to suit themselves.

The "Son of Morning", or the Morning Star is identified with the King of Babylon, not to any Devil or Satan.

And if Lucifer is indeed the Morning Star, then Jesus has been mentioned twice as the Morning Star and to the Dawn (though not to Lucifer explicitly in both 2 Peter 19 and Revelation 22:16).

If you meant the "Devil", then use Devil, but please do not use Lucifer.

I don't think anyone can answer this question at the present time. But if anyone finds out perhaps you could send us a postcard.......
As for now it's all speculation no matter what you believe......

Regardless of whatever Lucifer originally was or meant, the name has become synonymous with the Devil, for better or worse.

No. Satan is my buddy and Hell is where I will take my final stand against God if it's real.

Well it could be that because Lucifer had one of the highest position in heaven, that of leading God’s worship and fail in his rebellion and was cast out of heavens and God gave that position to humanity he hates us with passion, actually I think that hell is worst than they say, Satan is it ruler and there is an eternal separation from God for those that are sent there after judgement, that is worst than been burned for ever and ever, there is no way to leave hell and cross to heaven after the Judgement, to know this is worst than been burned.

Greetings!

In the Baha'i view, that s not how things are!

First off, God is One, Supreme, All Good, and has no rival or equal! There is thus no "devil" out there trying to get you. And evil is simply the relative absence of good, not an actual "thing" in itself, just as darkness is merely the absence of light (which is proven because you can bring light into a dark room, but not dark into a light room).

Satan simply refers to our own lower (animal) nataure when we give it control instead of our higher (spiritual) nature.

And everybody goes into the Next Life, and our status when we arrive there is a function of whether (and how well) we've acquired in this life the spiritual virtues needed both then and now!

Heaven is the spiritual condition of nearness to God; hell is remoteness. As such they exist here and now as well as after death! And in this life we can change from one to the other in an instant as a function of where our heads are at.

Regardless of where we start out in the Next Life (nearness or remoteness), our scriptures assure us that God, in His Infinite Mercy and Love, will assist everyone eventually to draw nearer to Him, so that we all ultimately do indeed arrive in Heaven!

So I'm happy to say prospects are far better than the descriptions you seem to have been hearing somewhere! . . .

Best, :)

God does not have a rival that can overpower him. Still the devil thinks he can overpower god. The god of delusion is delusional in that regard himself. But he is not able to see the truth about that little detail, because truth is hidden from him, he is the father of all lies. And he uses mankind to try and accomplish the overthrow of gods plans. And he thinks, really thinks, he can do it.

But with NT comparing Jesus to the Morning Star, then Jesus = Lucifer too.

There is absolutely nothing to link Lucifer to Satan, and nothing to the Devil.

As to Satan.

Other than the NT, the OT doesn't show Satan as being evil. He is God's middle man from what we can see in Job, doing God's bidding. If Satan is evil, then so is God, because God is ultimately responsible for Satan's action.

Only in NT do we see Satan turned into the Devil, a different personality altogether. Which image is true?

No idea, but the obvious moral of the story is that the two most powerful beings in the universe are fighting over who gets to be our savior. Go us!

:ignore:Are Heaven and God as bad as they say?

:ignore:To me Lucifer represents liberty, individualism, and dissent against tyranny. Rather noble virtues.

:ignore:No. Satan is my buddy and Hell is where I will take my final stand against God if it's real.
