Excuse me, I thought you had one. But I'm curious. How do you know that none of those you've seen is not an accurate translation? And if none are, how will you know when you find one?
O.K. enough stupid stuff.
I DO NOT know. Really I don't.
I am quite serious about being a Christian, not part of Christendom. Now about "accurate" translations.....wow.
Tough call. I'm interesting, deeply so, in J.W. doctrine but I'm not baptized nor have I completed the required bible
study to become a baptized J.W.
All I can do is be honest with no assertion, no gimicks, no tricks with words to make me sound more educated
or intelligent than I am.
I started college late in life. I was 49, earned an ***'t degree in applied sciences then went to Geneva College
and earned a bachelors in human resources. Geneva is a Christian university and our first text book was a
N.I.V. bible. We were required to read select chapters and verses and write essay after essay about what we
read.
Lots of essays, before we moved on to the boring statistical data of H.R.
I got interested in how one seemingly insignificant Jew started a world wide religion when he did NOT intend
to do so.
So I got to studying Christian history which led to studying Christianity that devolved into wondering about
contradictions in the scriptures and the meaning of the scriptures, eventually HOW they make meaning.
What does that ancient meaning have to do with today?
I know that is way more than you asked but I needed to lay a foundation. I began researching why there
are upwards of 40 K Christain denominations ALL reading essentially the same book.
So, being a former police detective I began searching and researching, questioning literally everything.
The last thing on earth I wanted to do was see that the J.W. might be right.
I mean who wants to be a J.W.??????? No Christmas, no Easter, no b-days, no voting, no shooting
anyone........huh?......and so on.
That said I'm about 99.9999% convinced that the J.W. organization is quite correct in the way the bible
should be understood. I researched the backgound of the Society and feel confident that the new
N.W.T. is probably about as correct a translation as one can get.
I do like the N.I.V. Study Bible quite a lot also.
There are more reasons to question accuracy in other translations than space here allows.
