Are you a male or female

I am under the impression that the idea that if you are a woman, you are supposed to do "X" and if you are a man you are to do "Y", these ideas are generally viewed as sexist ideas in American. However if you disagree, perhaps you can provide some examples of Gender roles that are not seen as sexist.
Sexist gender roles that have had efforts towards reducing and eliminating are things like women having to work in things like teaching or nursing while guys are viewed as inherently less capable with children. Gender roles that aren't sexist would be like being a mom/dad. It can also work both ways, such as how typical clothing can help (such as promoting average and normal figures) or hurt (using photoshop to create unrealistic amd impossible standards) gender roles.

To be a Mom or Dad is not a gender role.

Wearing clothes that make you look better is not a gender role. Again; if you disagree with me, provide examples of gender roles that are not viewed as sexist by modern American culture.
