Obviously it is about real life and the full definition of porn this thread is about. Accepting a job means being willing to do anything it covers.

It all comes down to Freedom in my opinion.

Pornography and even Prostitution for *some* women may even be empowering and if it is their CHOICE to undertake either profression then they should be free to.

However both industries are rife with exploiation and in the case of Prostituation exists prolifically in this world as a form of slavery. This I do not condone.

Prostitution is the oldest profression in the world they say. And Pornography can be art. There is nothing intrinsically wrong with either practise, but again only if is comes about through the willed choice of the individual concerned.

Thats my opinion :)

I'm fine with both porn and prostitution in theory.
In practice, I think there's still a long way to go to bring working conditions for pornstars and prostitutes up to scratch. Even so, I think it's better that they be legal and regulated than illegal and thus more at risk of exploitation.

Now, as to family, I'm a bit mixed. You say that you don't want me to talk about it being their choice, but that's honestly something I consider very important. I can't honestly say that I'd be happy about close family going into porn or prostitution, but it being their choice really does swing things for me. I'd want to support them.

Yep, and I think they should only be done at frequently inspected buildings - street prostitution should remain outlawed.
Clients have to be screened, support and training services for those seeking to leave the industry etc, there's a ton of ideas that could be implemented to help make it as safe and professional as possible.

Pretending it doesn't exist and banning all forms of it only pushes it underground, after all, they say "prostitution is the oldest profession". It ain't going anywhere, so we may as well make it safe.

But if it's safe, professional and it's something s/he genuinely enjoys doing, then what can I do: it's not my life. *shrug*
