By being fine with a family member practicing them, I mean your own feelings and approval. Please don't refer to it being their choice and that you don't have the right to decide for them. Family includes mothers, daughters, sisters and wives.

If you want to debate, start a new thread for that in a debating section. Quoting is only allowed to ask for clarifications, and without commenting on the answers.

I do not believe they are, in and of themselves, a bad thing. However, in the real world, there are many unsavory sides to it. You would have to drill down to the details. An adult woman or man posing nude....big deal. A minor child posing nude.....major problem. It is not a monolithic thing.....the devil is in the details.

I'm very liberal and have no problem with porn in general, but if my daughter or sister filmed porn movies or were into prostitution, I'd do everything in my power to get them out of it. I admit I don't know the ins and outs (no pun intended) of those industries. However, the temporary excitement and infamy would to a large degree define the rest of their lives. Many porn stars are into heavy drugs as well. Also, I can't imagine it would be worth it toward encouraging healthy self esteem for the long term. Those films would be on the internet forever. The whole thought makes me shudder, I desire a better life for those I love.
