In my time away from RF, I found that what you're seeing from this Christian has become fairly typical of US Christians now.....anti-vaxx, COVID denial, deep hatred for LGBTQs, desire for Christian theocracy, etc.

I'd wondered for a while if this would happen as Christianity declined in the US, but primarily among the mainstream and liberal denominations, leaving mostly the more right-wing ones as the voice and face of US Christianity.

IMO, this sort of thing is only going to drive more and more people away from the faith.

It becomes hate when Christians put countless hours and money into denying LGBTQs basic civil rights, when they describe LGBTQs as perverted, diseased, mentally ill predators who are constantly lurking in bathrooms seeking to "convert" your children, when they obsess over schools even mentioning that LGBTQs exist.

That's the hate.

Christians have worked very hard to deny same-sex couples the ability to marry, the ability to visit their partners in hospitals, protection against being fired for being LGBTQ, protection against being denied housing, protection against being denied home loans, protection against being denied public services, and a host of other things most of the rest of us take for granted.
