Ask a Witch

A) How do you skin animals alive without them singing Wizard of Oz tunes
B) How do I force politicians to do their job.
C) Do I use black or white magic to put a curse on the KKK.
D) How many witches does it take to screw in a light bulb.

That is all I want to know for now :D
A) it hasn't been easy. But I get through it with the help of Spirits. Usually moonshine or ale.

B) Its impossible. Even magic has limits

C) You could use either but I would go with Black magic simply to add insult to injury.

D) None we use candles.

I had a year in Chemistry then transferred to English. Couldn't take it.

But the Chemistry I'm talking about is different, isn't it? :p

Yeah. I've had Chem I, II and bio chem. I am not a huge fan of that kind of chemistry.

edit: Actually that is a lie. I like that kind of chemistry too. (I'd have to)

Two candles. An oil burner, an altar cloth, my cauldron, athame, incense and then holiday decorations. right now pine needles and holly.
Sometimes I have a whole pine cone. Special wood, from a distant land. Nag Champa most often, but sometimes very delicate Japanese incense.
Thanks, Midnight Rain.

But in all seriousness I know of several Pagans that institute varying levels of vegetarianism or veganism as part of a humanitarian drive that is required to love the earth. On some level I agree with them. I choose to only buy free range meat products for example but I still eat meat. So I don't have any particular diet regulations because of religious reasons.

Can you tell me about the Green Man?
The Green Man is usually a term given to Cernunnos or sometimes meant to mean the "god" aspect in general. Usually it is Cernunnos specifically though. What would you like to know about him?

Do people ever feel you're nuts? meeting a witch isn't that common.
Do I feel crazy? Not usually. Sometimes but that isn't because of my religion.

What I mean is, do people ever act towards you as if you're crazy when you tell them you're a witch. (no offense meant)
Has anyone ever asked you to prove that you're a witch? If so, were you willing or able to convince this person?

Most people don't know. But the ones that do usually are fairly accepting. A few zealous believers of other religions have sometimes taken it upon themselves to try and convince me of the evils of my ways.

Usually they misunderstand what magic is and what it means to be a witch. Usually the conversation goes into the direction of explanation and clearing up misconceptions. Then it moves into whatever other direction.

I have had challenges before but I usually don't humor them. Its much in they way of saying to a Christian "Prove it to me. Pray for something to happen". They do believe I"m a witch but if they had no interest in believing that magic was real I don't think I have convinced someone of that no.

Fair warned :) I will watch my step around you. Well, like they use to say on "The Way Of The Green Witch" (a website from back in the old days) you have to be born a witch. From there it is training. So my questions will for the most part be exploring your training and comparing it with mine. If this is ok with you?

What kind of grounding meditations do you use? Based on what I have studied as a mystic and interacting with folks, most folks that approach things as you seem to use the planet Earth as their ground. I have studied the Fae majik, the majik that was practiced before the Druids came onto the scene in Northern Europe. Becoming the Tree and grounding to the Earth through the roots of the Tree was their standard way of doing it. And I have studied yogi majik that uses the male Kundalini (the golden king cobra) and ground it to the sex and body energy centers (some of the druids used that one also and St. Patrick kicked them out of Ireland because they didn't use it nicely). Also I have studied Shamanism and some of the ancient Egyptian approach to things (the wings of the goddess Isis will be in my next question :) because that is one of the things I am exploring at this time, that and establishing a perment ground to "Foundation" the third level of grounding mass).

The reason that I start with grounding is that a good ground is absolutely vital, and because there seems to be based on my experience three levels of ground, relative to mass anyway (four if you count the sex and body energy centers and use the coiled massive body of the snake as your ground). The mass of the planet earth, the mass of the universe, and the mass that anchors the mass of the universe. So Midnight Rain, what kinds of grounding meditations do "you" use?

I may contest the claim that Fae Majik is older than Druidic but I don't want to get into that :p.
But I have learned several different grounding methods. I have heard of the tree one. You are to imagine yourself growing roots deeper and deeper into the earth while also reaching higher into the air. Some even bury their feet in the dirt for this.

Another that I like is actually somewhat a mixture borrowed from Eastern tradition as well. It involves a Chakra like meditation where you can do it standing or sitting but not in a chair. You picture the energy in your body connecting from the top of your head to your groin. Then from your groin you connect to the center of the earth by imagniing a chord of energy that holds you. Then you can from there even picture and open yourself up at your crown to the sky as well.

Then there are some other ways such as picturing yourself sinking into the earth all the way to the core.

My first life I was a "pan" and lived on the reserve/preserve that was set aside for those kinds of folks and in a few of my later lives I was a green brown spring druid. My present body carries the genetics and genetic memory for those things as well as some other things, and I was born an earth witch in this life time. My last lifetime I was a yogi and the father of Yogananda's Kriya Yoga tradition. So anyway Midnight Rain, that is my past and genetic background for this stuff.

Will now that I have been way over the top for a cookie :) : Humm?

The grounding meditations that you have mentioned I am familiar with and have used them. And picturing oneself in the center of the planet is also an awesome shielding meditation :) . It adds mass to your shield, which is very helpful when the other fellow is using only will created energy.

Midnight Rain, how is your Book of Shadows coming along? And was any of it handed down to you from one or more older witch/es?
