After Ymir. No-one or nothing is cooler than him. Don't get it twisted fool!

Oh, I'm not saying that I'm cooler than Paul, just that comparisons of that nature are meaningless now that the scale is broken.

Well several others have done it and I thought I would see where this led. I have noted that my frubals tend to "go off the charts" when I have written either humorous or advice pieces and tend to fall flat when I am breaking new ground or talking about Islam.

I think it safe to assume that I am definitely a "fringer" here on RF as I do not fit any predefined mold. The only way to describe my inner adventures is to say that I follow the mystical path of direct experience and that path is open to all who seek it. That path follows Buddhism and Shamanism mainly with nice naturalist and pagan twists tossed in for good measure.

I do not follow so-called "revealed" thinking outside of what the individual can "reveal" to themselves. My game can be defined in one word, perception. It is the best game in town and one that anyone can be a part of.

So, if you have any questions, of any kind, for this old coot, feel free and "let her rip". Let's try to keep the questions somewhat reasonable, but other than that there are no quidelines on what can be asked.

And as well... how people have always told you, and tell you "IT IS". ;)

So for a question...
This idea of "seeing things as they in fact actually might be."
Can you elaborate from your own personal experience,
what some of these "things" are that you have seen?,
When getting beyond the THINKING of "how things ought to be",
or "what you have always been tought they ARE"?
For starters UltraNewVioletReality, I don't assume that I am looking at things right and that does tend to keep me on my toes. I also have few expectations, and I am never really outside my inner "intuitive" awareness. I go by "feel" a lot of the time. Overall though, my main concept is that reality is open-ended and we exist in the moment point, or the nexus of all probabilities. I hope that answer helps.
....pssst.

You forgot your specs..
Don't forget, real geeks like me use specs as means to survive. We don't need food, we need specs..
Ah, my computers? It's 3 years old now, so it isn't likely to get anyones blood pounding, lol.

On a scale of 1-10, how cool are you?
I am off scale. Please see Angelous_evangellous's remark as to why. :D Coolness is only achieved by those who don't bother thinking about how cool they are.

Considering, of course, that daddy broke the scale. :takeabow:
Diet not going well, Daddy?

It is true, I love cooking and am fairly adept in the kitchen. Let's put it this way, I am continually giving my 77 year old mom tips and new ideas. This morning it was by using Mandarine oranges with pancakes. :) Wow.

I just remembered, our collective cookbooks, which are like scrapbooks, the rating system is ?? of out 10. The amusing thing is that there are numerous items that are now listed as 110/10 or 957/10. :)

Can't brain. Has dumb.
Wow, old thread!

New times, New question:

Why can't I think of a question to ask, after sitting here for 30mins? 0.o

Seriously.. in between getting carried away to somewhere else by my music, and remembering that I was posting a reply, I can't come up with anything! Why?

I am ignorant of the Manichaeans, Mr. Cheese, although I think Halcyon mentioned something about them way back. Are they of interest?

to me, yes...

they were a syncretic religion that mixed gnosticism, christianity, islam, zoroastrianism and buddhims and some others....

lasted for a thousand years.. fromt he 3rd century on...

arguably they were the first organized religion, but emphasised eperiental interaction with the divine over dogma, scripture etc.

Mar Mani was thought to be a Buddha by some and the reincarnation of lao Tzu by others...

Got a question for you....

Why are you really here (at RF)? Now be truthful:cool:.

Peace be upon you.
That is a surprisingly interesting question, Ghostaka. You see, to be perfectly honest, I came to RF originally to get away from Islam.com due to the fruitlessness of the discussions there.

Curiously, my connection to Islam.com began when I was reading over my journals from thirty-five years ago and came across a single reference to Islam and Muhammad, written when I was 17. I was struck by the brutal honesty my younger self displayed and decided to verify what I had written so long before. The reason I felt I should verify it was because after reading the short statement I realized that in some countries on this planet I could be killed for writing such a thing.

(And no, I won't reproduce here what I wrote way back when, but suffice to say that Muslims would be incensed by it -- to say the least. Quite honestly, I have yet to write anything as incendiary here on RF, nor is it likely that I ever will. I'd get banned immediately.) Oddly after a 7 year (and counting) examination of Islam, from many different angles, I can only applaud my younger self. However, that is only a very small part of my story, but one that, so far, has needed the most research.

What I am doing here on RF is seeing how my ideas interact with reality. To be honest, I never thought my unusual view of reality would resonate with readers as well as it has. RF has shown me that many people are interested in what I have to say - and I have hundreds of frubal comments to prove it. I am also quite aware that many would like me to be more delicate and less "in your face", but alas, that is not how I am. If you think I am abrasive on RF, you ought to get a load of me in real life, lol.

SO... to answer your question, I am here to hone my skills as a writer and converse with other human animals that interest me, for whatever reason.

I couldn't rightly say as you would have to ask a Buddhist. That being said, Buddhism is more about getting to the beach rather than offering suggestions on what to do once you are there basking in the sun.

Right and wrong are dualistic value judgments that simply reinforce our highly prejudiced preconceptions about how reality ought to behave. That being said, Nirvana, as it is popularly conceived and marketed, simply does not exist. I tend to think of this as another of one of Buddha's little jokes. The hilarity of the joke is that before you can appreciate its humor you have to be at your source and by getting There you may well have become somewhat enlightened in the process.
