Atheism

Yes.

I don't think it's realistic for a person to have no biases at all. Bias can be value-neutral as well as value-specific.

Wilfully embracing the illogical aspects of the human condition is not something I would be proud of. Biases maybe inevitable but acting on a conscious bias is a choice. Can you explain how your position is different to me saying that I hate you because I have homophobia?

The human condition is not logical to begin with, because human beings are not logical.
And how would you explain that position? Human beings are perfectly logical, all they are and do is the result of a logical cause. Little mystery in that.

And for the actual thread: Atheism brings a rational and scientific approach to the problems of the world, posing a real solution.

Freedom, Just Freedom, Simply Freedom. A life of Freedom, only freedom. Who would want that.

Heh... In my experience people don't want a life of complete freedom.
Oh, they want to influence their lives somewhat, and they will -tell- you that they want freedom, but when it comes down to it, most people like some confinement, and they like for someone else to take charge and lead.
For some people freedom is a terrifying concept because if things go wrong they'll have no-one else to blame but themselves...

Sorry. ;)

For me, atheists are angry to show that they are atheists. The world is not the way they would like it to be and so to assert their identity as atheists they raise hell. I've never met a feminist who had no problem with the patriarchy or the plight of women. I've never heard of a PETA member who was indifferent to animal abuses or the existence of the fur trade.

Some people are defined by their anger.

By this conception of angry, EVERYONE is angry. People have a right to be civic individuals and help do things like vote in people who mirror their values and vote for policies they like and against those they don't like. Angry does not equal bad. Anecdotal most of the atheists I know are the, I don't talk about it much, I just don't believe in any Gods and go about my life types.

Obviously indulgences are all an application of hate. /sarcasm.

Why would such an intelligent man destroy his health like that? Knowingly and willingly? And then call it "living life on one's own terms." My guess is he is on the final descent of a kamikaze mission. The kids who idolize him these days have some who makes smoking and drinking look cool.

I don't believe so, because we must be logical in order to have a perception of logic. Both the concepts of the existence of a god and the non existence of a god are born from logic.

Right because indulging in vices draws a direct line to one having a constant emotional state of unmitigated hate and anger. To quote South Park Johnny Cochran. "That does not...make....sense!" And frankly people can idolize people for all sorts of silly reasons. This does not characterize all admiration for an individual as based in their personal choices to indulge in smoking, excessive drinking or any other activity. It's even MORE dumb to think that the health issues that have resulted from it are a result of an emotional state or the like instead of what ACTUALLY CAUSED THE HEALTH ISSUE.

/facepalm infreakindeed.

Can you re-word those two sentences? This is very awkward.

Johnny Cochran? Johnny Cochran helped a murderer go free.

Is this sarcasm? I can't tell.
Not sarcasm. Fields of science studying the human being like neurology, agogy and psychology are explicitly concerned with the logical functions of human beings. There's nothing mysterious about mankind anymore.

He knows smoking and consuming alcohol is bad and never promoted them as being 'cool'. Besides, what does this have to do with his atheism? Or anti-theism as he'd rather call his position.
Johnny Cochran? Johnny Cochran helped a murderer go free.
And that is a valid counter-argument because...

Are you implying there is some connection between being an atheist and smoking?!?
