Tommorow is for many a time to celebrate Jesuses birthday my quetion is,what do you do on christmas day if you are an athiest.
And if you are an athiest and your partner is a christian and wants to celebrate it do you just go along with it to keep the peace.

Best wishes for the festive season i am going to PARTY big time.

My wife is an atheist who enjoys Carol services etc, she takes them in the same light as pantomine or Santa Claus, Christmas doesn't have to be taken as any more than tradition and a bit of fun to be enjoyed.

I don't celebrate Christmas, but I do eat all the food :)

The religious aspect of Christmas is no longer that important. It is now very much a commercial holiday.

Im going to get drunk and open presents. Christmas isn't about santa or Jesus for me anymore, its all about dollars and cents :(

I treat it as family & friends day. I do the tree thing open presents. The tree has a bow at the top instead of a star or angel.

Being the consumer whore that I am, I love Christmas. Sales galore. This involves me camping out in front of Fry's to grab extremely cheap stuff I will probably never use.'
And CompUSA is going out of business. Sales there are kinda crappy compared to other stores, but they're practically giving away their cables. Well worth the 3 hour drive. When the CompUSA nearby closed down, I grabbed over $2400 in cables for about $25

My family will celebrate Christmas, but I will celebrate the pagan cult of Sint Klaus which was about 'Giving'.

Most of Christmas day is taken up with family stuff. I'll likely be going with my wife to mass either tonight or tomorrow.

I, personally, will be sitting at home with my dog, Spike, tomorrow. Mrs. MdmSzdWhtGuy is 2 states away visiting her family and (hopefully) deflecting her brother and sisters' attempts to get her to leave me and find a nice Catholic boy from her home town.

Cool ,i think its good that even if you are an atheist despite all the comercialism that people think of their love ones at this time of year merry christmas

I'd like to think that atheists do that all year round instead :). I'm going to be parted from my love this xmas *sniffle* so she will definitely be on my mind.

I think I enjoy it in much the same way as your average Christian (in Scotland at least). Avoid chapel, ignore the Pope and the Queen, enjoy dinner, have a few drinks, and generally be happy for the quality of life I have and quality of people who inhabit it.

I find it hard to believe an atheist would have a Christian as a partner thats like oil and water however; where I live 95% of the population is Buddhist thus we are atheists (did you know that? We don't worship idols either). Any way December 25th is just another day of no significance and we all go to work, business as usual.
