It isn't a cop out but a logical conclusion.

The bible forbids adultery while prostitution is allowed in most Christian countries, so religion has no effect in minimizing adultery.

Turkey is a Muslim country and Iran is a Muslim country, women can walk in bikini in Turkey while can't do it in Iran.

Hello FearGod........ now you need to get ready for this.
This is a test, of sorts...... ok?
Can you answer 'Yes'..... or 'No'?
Ready?
Question:- Do adulterers get executed in Muslim Theocracies?

Ironically, the freedom with me and my friends started with smoking pot. We thought we had found a lost and forgotten truth, that love is the answer. After a few of the ladies got pregnant, and the father was long gone, a few thought it might be wise to find out what true love really meant. And, thus came religion.

Those ex-hippies that became Baha'is or Christians brought an openness. They seemed more genuine. Those were good times and with both religions, we really thought that the "new age" or the "lessor peace" or Christ's return was eminent. Anyway, back to the OP.

................. since I joined RF, I have been wondering whether Universalism might be the closest group to achieve what we experienced in those days........ simply because everybody is accepted. I must have a search for UU in Kent, England and investigate.

Killing people, making them pay fines, shunning them, nothing has ever stopped people from "enjoying" the pleasures of having sex with people they are not supposed to. I've only turned down sex because of religious commitments only a couple of times. I regretted making that decision. But, I've also regretted several of the times I did have sex. So what am I supposed to do? I guess your supposed to feel guilty in both the Baha'i Faith and Christianity. I guess I could do the smart thing and be prepared and go up to the foothills and start panning for gold.
When we became engaged, close to 45 years ago, we did not make love until married because we were Bahais. In Bahai, in that group, we were told that engagements were only intended to be short........ and so on our wedding day we hardly knew each other. And on our wedding night we did not know each other. It was like tossing a coin to see if we might be happy.
Many marriages went badly wrong.

Hello Oldbadger

No they shouldn't be executed but to be punished.

If punishment were taken seriously all over the world then we wouldn't see millions infected with STD every year.

No i didn't

I said there is no execution for adultery in Islam.

My answer is according to my understanding of Islam and not the media.

Show me one verse in the muslim holy book that says adulterers should be killed similar to the verses in the bible.

Leviticus 20:10 “If a man commits adultery with his neighbor’s wife, both the man and the woman who have committed adultery must be put to death.

Deuteronomy 22:22 “If a man is discovered committing adultery, both he and the woman must die. In this way, you will purge Israel of such evil.

Why didn't it "purge" Israel from the "evil" of adultery? What do Christians do? Use the honor system? And, even with fines and punishment, it doesn't stop people from doing it. I have seen "guilt trips" put on people in Christianity and the Baha'i Faith. Those people might not commit adultery. Unfortunately, they might get committed for going looney from sexual repression.
