I'm new here, but have immensly enjoyed reading the poems in this section ...just thought I'd share one of my own.
I wrote this late last year, following a spiritual 'slump'. I came across it again tonight and realised that I can still pinpoint what each line pertained to. It dawned on me, that had I kept a daily written record through this time, and found that tonight instead of this...it wouldn't have meant nearly as much. Funny how, depending on individual interpretation of course, sometimes fewer words say the most.
Be Still, For Just a Moment
To swim life's river, and with it, observe the ebb and flow of the waters,
Is to learn the value of change in many of its manifestations.
To lend ear to the birds of the skies, and bathe in their wisdom,
Is to oversee land's struggle and maintain a song in your soul.
To rediscover energies from (seemingly) aimless tree roots,
Is to uncover what was once lost...to man, to time itself.
To ultimately become One with all that is,
Is to be led to our intended destination...
Back toward the pool of inspiration,
Back to the Source,
And with it,
Back to the Truth.
