"offer gifts (prashadam)"

Correction:
Prashadam = mercy bestowed; mercy recieved from the benefactor.

We offer all things to God ---and in-return we accept from him His bountiful mercy in the form of Prashadam.

IE: We offer food & thanks ---we receive back the remnents of the offerring ---after the offerring, the remnents are referred to as "Prashadam".

MIND matters!

Actually "Mushin" (no-mind) was made famous by the Samurai that availed themselves of such esoteric Japanese Zen benefits of silent sitting meditation (seisen) so as to calm & un-shakable [in the Zone ~Zen Presence] in the midst of hand-to-hand combat.

Mind matters [?] {please site the sutra's chapter and verse of Daruma's insights} ~

No-mind {please site the sutra's chapter and verse of Daruma's insights & along with the Japanese Translators' bonefides}

Wow, Bill Cosby would whince at this.

The campaign slogan, "A Mind is a Terrible Thing To Waste," has remained unchanged for more than three decades and has become part of the American vernacular.

BTW, my observation tells me:
Bill Cosby's advert endorsements for "JELLO" probably brought him bad karma.

Those who are observe *OTHERS* is a perceiver and all perception is through the mind and mind is connected with KARMA.
Understand the following:
Actions in the Turiya state do not create karma. Meditation is a practice aimed at giving individuals the experience of being in this objective state. An individual who is constantly in the turiya state is said to have attained moksha where their actions happen as a response to events (and not because of thought process); such actions do not result in accumulation of karma as they have no karmic effect.
So, all efforts, if any, should be directed towards that objective!

The Indian state of Kerala must be the only place where things go a little differently. As most Hindus there eat beef, and aren't mostly vegetarian. I guess it must due to the influence of the Muslims and Christians (who both make up about more than 40% of the population).
