What? !??!!!
Not being able to vote while being incarcerated is now considered as inhumane treatment?
But I already did.
So it's all a racial thing. That's a relief. Good thing Bernie exposed that then.Sounds like it was a quote from a response to a question, so not necessarily a major platform plank, but it's refreshing to hear a politician suggest that citizens - ALL citizens - should have the full rights of citizenship.
... especially how imprisonment has been used in the US as a way to disproportionately disenfranchise minorities.
Maybe he's a robot. Admittedly I didn't look for the extension cord sticking out of his pant leg.

And here I was thinking all the while, people were put in prison because they do a crime.
I wish!Busted!
So you are admitting to Wobwob being your
sock puppet??? Or is it the other way around?
You need serious remedial training on what's fake or real.
Of course, I can give you the benefit of the doubt that it's a fake Bernie saying all that.
The people with the most influence over lawmakers tend to be the same people who can afford to repeatedly break the law without consequence.
What! You're advocating that people be personally responsible for their actions? You tyrant!!
They're being punished for a serious crime.Last I knew, "no taxation without representation" was a rally cry for war. If you don't want them to vote, make them tax exempt as compensation. It is their right to do so, after all.
Sounds like a politician.Nah,it is just Ol' Crazy Bernie, trying to get attention,
trying to be relevant, a part of things.

Since you brought it up, plz tell us what it means
to "treat people like people".
Murderers and rapists should lose those rights indefinitely unless proven innocent later on. Maybe even those who refuse vaccinations. But we need to draw lines even in authoritarian thinking. There's always the next group that doesn't deserve rights for some thought crime that people want out.Are you one who feels that all such rights are
absolute and universal, not to be denied anyone
under any circumstances. for any length of time?
No. However there are no grounds for stripping them their right to vote, such as is reasonable to strip the right to own a gun from those found guilty of a violent crime. Since America's sovereignty the trend has definitely been a shift towards becoming more democratic. Are you one who feels that all such rights are
absolute and universal,
With what job? Convicts aren't exactly the most employed group out there. They're being punished for a serious crime.
We could even increase their tax rate.
Why should they lose their right to vote? What risks are posed to society by allowing them to vote?Murderers and rapists should lose those rights indefinitely unless proven innocent later on.
