Better actor Johnny Depp or Leo dicaprio?

Leo has never disappointed me, while there are plenty of movies of Depp that did nothing for me. Leo's acting is always outstanding, including when he was very young (Basketball Diaries for example).

Generally when I see Depp in a film, I see an actor acting well. But when I see Leo acting, he is the character. I forget he is just an actor.

Man, that's a tough one. But I'm gonna say Johnny Depp because of the statistics

Johnny Depp is one of my favorite male actors. I admire his versaltility, though I'm not one to go weak in the knees over him.

I do find Leonardo DiCaprio to be a great actor as well - just not quite as great as Depp.

Johnny also has very many personalities, when Leonardo seem like he has to be serious all of the time

Johnny Depp, for me. I don't like him for his looks, but for his versatility and enthusiasm. He's quirky and interesting, to me. I've really enjoyed any films I've seen him in - and I've only seen one of the Pirates movies. In particular, I thought he was awesome in Edward Scissorhands, Alice in Wonderland, Secret Window, Sleepy Hollow, Sweeney Todd, his voice work in Corpse Bride, and at least a couple others I can't recall at the moment. Then again, I like weird, quirky movies. :)

I don't dislike DiCaprio, though. The last one I saw him in was Inception, and I thought he was pretty good in it.

I loved Depp in From Hell, but also in CryBaby.
I think the only movie that I saw Dicaprio in, that I liked was Catch Me If You Can

Johnny is way more versatile, but I'm not sure who is a better actor.
Interesting, I would have thought the opposite. I love Johnny, but he does seem to play a similar, flamboyant, larger-than-life character in all of his roles. DiCaprio is much more subtle.

Absolutely love Johnny Depp. Good looking, memorable acting/characters and so quirky!

So yeah, my vote goes to him. Nothing against DiCaprio but I don't find him as... Interesting. Was "in love" with him when I was little though. Teehee!

Definitely Johnny Depp. He's cute and I love his acting. (I usually like blonds, but I don't think Leo is a really great actor..)

I definitely agree with this.
I also think it more likely for women to prefer Depp due to the roles and films he features in. Leo's movies are probably more male-friendly. But I much prefer his suspenseful films to the childish many that Depp plays in. Also, due to the weird characters that Depp portrays, I find it difficult to see him as an attractive man.

I liked Donnie Brasco and Pirates, but not as much as I like Leo's movies.

That's the difference for me. While I really like the Depp films I listed, there are far more I don't like. Whereas I love every single Leo film I've ever seen (which is most of them).

Same here, except Titanic, Gatsby, and Gilbert Grape. Those were pretty terrible.
