Bill Cosby found guilty

Do you think that a drunk guy should be absolved, legally, because he was not capable of making a decision?
Absolved of what? What kind of situation are you talking about? Is the drunk guy conscious?

He was drunk! He was not capable of making an informed decision.

Or is it only women who can use that?
Tom
Why are you making this into a man versus woman thing? And how is your example comparable to the Cosby stuff?

If any person of any sex or gender is unconscious, they cannot consent to anything! Neither can an alien from outer space, or a donkey or a house cat. If you're unconscious you cannot, by definition, make any kind of decision whatsoever.

Can you explain how an unconscious person can consent to anything
Yes.
They give consent, then drug themselves. Like Constand did.

And can you tell me if you think it's normal to have sex with an unconscious person?
No, I am a big prude. It is not normal. But it's common, unfortunately.

Even if she knowingly went in there, planning to take drugs and then have sex, you don't think anything changes when she falls unconscious and becomes incapable of making any decisions whatsoever? I mean, seriously?
Seriously.
I consider her to be a competent adult, even though she is female. She drugged herself.
Why do you think women are incapable of deciding these sort of things for themselves, but men are capable?
That sounds very sexist to me. I think women are just as capable as men are.

I don't even know why Cosby wanted to do it with a girl. Ewe!
Nor do I know for sure why Constand went to Cosby's place. But I am not stupid and I can figure some things out.
Tom
If you really could figure things out, I'd more often hear from you....
"Yes, I completely agree!"

ou making this into a man versus woman thing?
I'm not.
It's the #metoo people who are. The feminists.
I see two trashy people getting together. This isn't news.
But only the dude is on trial. Because feminists don't think that women are capable of making bad decisions. It must be some man....
Constand went there for something. She drugged herself and put out.
Yuck!!!
But she did choose that for herself.

If you say so. Nobody else but you is doing it in this thread though. How about we address what people are saying in this thread instead? It might be more productive.

Because I can't get a competent answer to the questions.
If Constand went to Cosby's place on her own.
And did up a handful of pills.
And then went back again.
Why is he on trial? She picked it.

Why are women allowed to foist the responsibility for the choices they make off onto the guys they boink?

Sorry, I'm not feminist enough to buy that.

Are you saying that rape can be justified if the woman puts herself in jeopardy of it twice?

I've already tried explaining it to you. We just seem to disagree about the unconsciousness part. You appear to be in the minority about that as well, and I'm not sure what's placing you there. I don't think it has anything to do with feminism. It just happens to be a women in this case.

No.
I'm saying that a woman is capable of making a sleazy choice. Which Constand apparently did.

The fact that she's a woman doesn't change the fact that she made the choice.

This is why I am not a feminist. I am an egalitarian. I believe that everybody can make choices for themselves. Even girls. But then they have to live with them. Even girls.

That seems to be saying rape is justified if it was facilitated by the victims sleazy choice(s). Interesting theory, Tom. I don't buy it, but it's interesting in this day and age that anyone would suggest it.

When did Sunstone say anything about feminism or women? This applies to men, too.

Oh cut the crap out. Of course I believe women can make their own choices. Only in your mind alone is it any different.

As I understand your line of thought....
If one does irresponsible things, with reasonably foreseeable
bad consequences, then then another party who contributes
to those consequences isn't guilty of wrongdoing.
Is this close?
