Bill Cosby found guilty

So far, I am not seeing evidence that Cosby did either.
Taking a handful of pills isn't being drugged. It's drugging yourself.

For whatever reason.
People do it all too often.
Tom
Not if the person giving another person the pills lies about them. Cosby did not state that they were qualudes or whatever rape drug he is alleged of using. He would say that they were for headaches, or that they were "herbal". Taking advantage of someone that you have deceived is "drugging".

Once again, if you know any drug abusers they tend to have a history of it. Did the defense show a history of drug abuse? I was once with a woman that had a meth problem. I was never tempted to take the drug and it was reinforced by her behavior when she was on it. I eventually got too tired of the roller coaster. Was she coming on to me because she loved my, which she did, or merely because she was high? If it was because she was high it meant that she was going to be psychotic in a day or so. Paranoia does not help a sexual relationship.

Oh, give me a break.
Would you believe someone who is giving you pills in order to have sex?

I am not a feminist because I think women are capable of making decisions for themselves. Even bad ones.

Would you go to a gay dudes house, looking for career advancement, ask for pills first, then take a handful of blue pills?
I don't think you would. Because you know better. And I think Constand knew too.
Tom

No amount of foolishness on my part would grant anyone free access to my booty. People making stupid choices doesn't vindicate raping them.

What?

This makes no sense at all. The people that took the pills trusted Cosby. They were not taking them to get high. That is a slur on your part that you need to be able to support. Not only these 5 women in this case, but on the order of sixty have come forward. You appear to have a rather low opinion of women.

Yea, it is written in the Book of Cyril...
This late in life almost any reasonable prison sentence will be a life term. It also appears that there is no way that he can be rehabilitated. Not feeling too much pity for the man, simply sadness of what he seemed to be once in his life.
I'm torn. Should he get a lighter sentence because of how much joy he's spread and how much he's helped people over the years, or should he receive a harsher sentence, for exactly the same reason?

The sad part is the good things he's done will get buried by this. Benjamin Franklin was a notorious womanizer and is on money. Jefferson owned, and procreated with, slaves and is an American icon. Ulysses Grant was a drunk and got elected President after slaughtering thousands of men. They were just fortunate enough to exist before television.

I'll remember Cosby for what I liked of him, his comedy, and hope that doesn't get tainted by what a reprehensible maggot of a human he was. I mean, I read 'Peanuts' faithfully as a kid, and still enjoy it even though Snoopy was found guilty of.... well, let's not open that can of worms.

Minor quibble.....
Franklin, Jefferson, & Grant behaved according to their times.
Cosby violated the standards of the day....at least the standards
of people who aren't Harvey Weinstein or Jeffrey Dahmer.

But Jefferson's stock does seem to be falling....

It wasn't just Snoopy. Charlie Brown's stalking and harassment of that little red haired girl. Then Schroeder filed charges against Lucy.

Being stupid is not grounds for consent though. If I leave my house unlocked when I go to work, that is dumb. But that doesn't mean I can't file a police report when someone steals my things. My stupidity does not automatically give someone the right to take my stuff.
Did the girl in question make a really dumb decision? Sure. But if Cosby was well known to be a paternal figure, why would she assume that he would take advantage of her if she was in a state of unconsciousness or drugged out or whatever? There's an implicit trust that he wouldn't, built into his persona. Is it dumb to blindly trust that? Sure. But that doesn't mean it absolves him of his own actions. He chose to take advantage of her, it's not like she literally passed out on his lap as she was undressing. Even then you're still supposed to wait until she regains consciousness. This is stuff we teach to children in health class, for crying out loud. He still had the choice to be responsible or break the law. He chose the latter, she did not force his hand.
If someone is unconscious when you have sex with them, it doesn't matter if they took pills of their own volition or not, it is rape under the eyes of the law. At least it is in civilized society last I checked.

I love the old Bill Cosby Show ans I Spy. I liked the ones where Denise was trying to get her crap together because she reminded me of me. I liked the one where she came home from her crazy job in Africa and she was married that was hillarius.

For those who are worried how he may be in jail don't worry. I've seen a special on this and use to write a prisoner who told me the same thing.

Prison system these days seperate prisoners in you and middle age and old young guys between 16 and 30 are in one prison and the elderly old age , if they are in the same prison with others, they take them away in the day hours all day to a prison old folks home.

Some people think they have it to easy but they have to do it they have to be able to have nurses give them their meds. They get to watch tv eat popcorn play games and socialize with their fellow elderly prisoners day hours. They are seperated from the younger prisoners.

So no he will not be raped, of course I imagine too many prisoners wouldn't want too anyways its Bill Cosby. But the elderly in prison do get treated differently they are in an old age section of prison.

Of course the judge could give him 2 years and he may not stay past 6 months anyways so.
Who the hell is worrying about how Cosby is treated in jail, besides maybe his delusional (mostly) black fans who think it is a racist conspiracy.

True even sent to regular jail hed probably have not nessesarily all black men but quite a few fans protecting him. A lot of folks with good looks get stuff like free alcohol free food goodies in jail from security guards sneaking them things.

Sense Bill is a star no telling how many freebies the guard can give him but as I said elderly people are treated differently better with nurses taking care of them looking after them anyways so it no matter what the fans do hell be in a good place well not good bad because hes not home but it wont be a rough place anyways.

Hes rich Im sure hell be able to afford all the books and food nicer food all he wants.

The type of crime though - I think there is much less respect for those in jail who are molesters.

Yes But this is why people were upset with the tv special I saw on this.Rapists murderers molesters were all in this elderly seniors programs in the prisons.

He'l be in one the crime doesn't matter as an older person getting beat up or raped would instantly kill you

So they ha e to be separated from the rest of the prison and they have to get meds that type of thing so they have to be in elderly seniors group anyways.

Because of his age hell probably get to watch tv and play games with other prisoners.

Bill Cosby's talk of Quaaludes led to conviction, juror says

The jury that convicted Bill Cosby at his sexual assault retrial said that its decision was only influenced by what happened in court, and the youngest member of the panel said that the comedian's own words sealed his fate. Harrison Snyder said in an interview aired Monday on ABC's "Good Morning America" that it "wasn't an open and shut case." But the 22-year-old says Cosby's deposition - in which he admitted giving women drugs to have sex with them - was the evidence that made him believe he was guilty.

"I think it was his deposition, really. Mr. Cosby admitted to giving these Quaaludes to women, young women, in order to have sex with them," Snyder said of a deposition that was part of a civil case brought by accuser Andrea Constand.

I believe that Ms. Constand went to Cosby's place planning, or at least expecting, to trade sex for a career boost.
She wanted to drug herself first, which Cosby accommodated. Sleazebags all around, I definitely agree. But women trading sex for some other advantage is a story older than chipped flint. Constand is not a rape victim any more than Stormy Daniels.
