If such tweets didn't contribute to a decay of civil interaction between groups, you'd have a point. Heather Heyer's health, for example, got markedly poorer in a manner that Trump's tweets certainly seem to encourage among some of his followers, whether he's joking or not.

Ever notice bullies always claim "it was just a joke" when called out? Strangely the people being bullied rarely find it funny, and, even stranger, neither do the bullies when turnabout occurs.

At the presidential level I'm assuming a much higher, and in The Don's case, a more crass, methodology other than a perverse sense of bullying.

I hope he actually tries to have people arrested over it. The resulting mega-embarrassment of a trial would pretty much bump Trump, and possibly even Pence by association.

This is hateful, divisive, and dangerous. His supporters are already repeating it too. I told one of them on Facebook today that it's ridiculous.

As a Democrat, I'm a citizen of this country. Democrats have fought for and served this country. We had sitting presidents before the GOP was ever a spark in the mind of Lincoln. I just find myself realizing how insane this is, just like everything else 45 has unleashed. I never thought I'd live to be called an enemy of my own country for what I believe is right.

Through history, Democrats have helped to preserve and serve this country. This is our republic too.

Reasonable Republicans must see how off base 45's comments are here. Democrats are not traitors and enemies of America. He is for saying such things.
