Broke my ankle

Hope you get better... I know it is a process.

I had six screws in my ankle years ago... softball weekend-warrior accident. Visions of grandeur that were dashed as I slid into home base. I slid alright, right into a hospital bed.

How did it happen?

Oh gosh. Hope you are okay now.
I tripped on a box, fell on it, with my foot jammed between it and my car tire.

Hi, y'all. I broke my ankle last Wednesday and this is the first time I have sat in front of my computer. Hope everyone has had a great week! Going back to bed but will try to get on here again soon.

Hope you’re better soon
I’ve done that three times, same ankle, it does set better. Just takes time and listen to the doctor

last time was about 10 years ago, and it was not dancing, it was all martial arts. But I wish you a speedy recovery so you can return to dancing soon

Thanks! My husband broke a foot ligament doing martial arts. It's called a Lisfranc injury or something like that. (I call it Franz Lizst.) He comes home battered, sore and bruised all the time. And he keeps telling me that I should try it. Uh, no. I am a wimp.

I think you win. Update: After seeing Wu Wei's post, you are runner up.
I perhaps should add some information that might be useful to others perhaps. The first occurred whilst mountaineering and was a simple torsion fracture of the fibula. That seemed to heal OK. Some decades later, I appeared to be getting flat feet after driving too much and walking less. Instead of seeking out professional advice, I (foolishly) chose to get some inserts, and which seemingly helped to cure the problem. But, they may have stressed the bones in some fashion and unknown to me at the time. Hence, a few years ago, I stepped sideways in the garden only to find the previously broken ankle give way painfully and obviously rather badly, and this was followed by the other doing so too. The bad one was pinned and both seem to be reasonably normal now. Our health service, being somewhat overstretched, did nothing to ascertain the cause of the breaks, so it is only my opinion as to what caused the later breakage.

The only bone that I ever broke was a toe bone. Or perhaps the joint was just very messed up. It did not heal particularly straight. Aside from that I only had some other minor injuries and a couple of shoulder dislocations.

Finally, my follow up is on Monday. Looking forward to PT.

Listen to your therapist. The only bones I am absolutely sure that I broke were three metatarsals. The foot was not pretty. I could not wait and was a bit too active with my walking cast. Besides wrecking one I may have slightly slowed down the healing process. I needed orthotics for a few years afterwards. At any rate too much too soon can be as bad as not following exercise orders.

Ankle 3 times, fractured my knee cap, broke a toe, tore meniscus, and repaired meniscus, in both knees, replaced one knee...so far

Ow! I did not do a lot of tournaments. Too easy to get injured. That was where one of my shoulder dislocations happened. The pain dropped me, but it popped back in when I hit the mat so I was back up. I was behind 2 nothing between that and another score. But then I made my big comeback. The next day I found out he broke his big toe on my shoulder. We were both in more pain that day then the day that we were sparring.
