ZZ, do you have any of his books already? Or have you just found some things online?
Friend Venugopal,
You missed it.
There is nothing as DEATH.
It is only a transformation.
He has transformed not only himself but the whole energy level around the globe which is evident from the followers of that path.

Simply incorrect.I enjoy reading Bruce Lee only as much as I enjoy reading any other eastern zen/chan philosopher (which is alot). Though he said nothing new. As for the martial arts, in my opinion... he was lacking. His technique was choppy and sloppy, his kicks were short and improper, and his jeet kune do reflects his lack of mastery in wing chun. However, I do not AND WILL NOT doubt his unbelievable impact on the martial arts movie genre. We would not have them if it weren't for him. He, however, was not the martial arts god that everyone makes him out to be.
And let us not forget he was a champion cha-cha dancer.
Life is an illusion, for all things slowly die and return the Source. You missed it.

That isn't what I meant. People too often refer to Bruce Lee as a sort of "perfect martial artist". They see him as the epitome, or pinnacle of martial arts greatness. But martial arts is defined by technique, of which his was lacking. The ability to perform a technique naturally and fluidly is dependent on one's mastery of the correctness of technique. A technique done even minutely wrong, will not be effective. However, the majority of the population without the knowledge of the correct technique will not notice. Speed up the incorrect technique (as Bruce Lee is famous for, his speed) and it becomes even more difficult for the non practitioners to see the error. But even an incorrect technique done with incredible speed will not be as effective as a correct technique done at half that speed. So, Bruce Lee garnered a TON of respect as an amazing martial artist among people who had no mastery (or basic understanding) in martial arts. This is natural. And as for the people who challenged him, this proves nothing other than the hypocrisy of martial arts in America. Because even as Bruce Lee copied from ancient Chan ideas in your op... The martial arts is about self mastery, not beating anyone up. So him beating all the challengers is pointless. Even Ashida Kim claims to have beat all of his challengers. And anyone familiar with the man knows that he is full of crap, and is not a martial artist in any shape or form.Friend Master Vigil,
You too are a *god*. It is not important if others recognizes that within you or not as that is their karma and depends on their own time/space zone they are in BUT it surely makes a difference if the individual recognizes the *god* within him.

Correct, truth is truth no matter what I think. That is why I love martial arts. Because within the martial arts, a technique will either work... or not. There really isn't much room for error. And Bruce Lee needed a lot of work on his techniques, no matter how many Bruce Lee fanatics deny it.Friend MasterVigil,
Right / wrong are again perspectives from a stand point and anyone deciding that stand point also is from a perspective.
Truth is only when all perspectives are lost.

I get your point. My point, however, is simple. Bruce Lee is overrated.Friend Master Vigil,
You are missing the point.

Whether or not his techniques were "lacking" I would think is a bit irrelevent. Whether or not his lacking techniques were a reflection of his self-mastery is up for debate, but that is irrelevent also, I think, if his techniques or stories can empower the reader/film watcher in their journey to self-mastery, which is indeed the driving point of the thread.
