Burqa and security

I think its not helpful for security if one can't tell the identity of someone. the basis of security is to recognise someone to know who they are.
Really, the only way to ever achieve such an ends would be to have everyone's skeletal structure on record. It's easy to make yourself appear different without even using a mask (such as make up, wearing glasses, shaving/growing a beard, loosing/gaining weight), but bones never lie.
And then there is also the issue of knowing who someone is, but not knowing who they really are. Serial killers, for instance, are known for being likeable and charismatic people, and sometimes even hold higher positions in society. And someone like Jim Jones, who would have saw him leading a mass-suicide back when he was transcending racial barriers (he was, after all, the first white person in Indiana to adopt a black child)? Even our own Revoltingest employed a computer tech who turned out to be a mass-murdering psycho.

At least we can minimise what we can.

Hi,

I'm a muslim woman and wear niqab..personally I haven't seen women wearing a burkah in the UK or Saudi Arabia. The burkah is a covering they wear in Afghanistan it's more cultural than Islamic.
This is the niqab most women in the west wear.

All the muslim women I know who wear niqab(including myself) don't have an issue with ID check at airports, courts etc. I simply lift the face veil up for a second.

So personally I don't understand why some people have an issue with it.
Quite a few muslim women who used to wear it removed their niqab because they faced a lot of hostility and abuse. So it's not that the public isn't safe..muslim women wearing it aren't safe in today's day and age.
I think the points you raise are much more important and true in the daily lives of millions compared to the fear of a very few about something which is not to be feared.

It is a cultural conflict. Once should not expect to wear their own "traditional" clothes in alien cultures with impunity except on holidays. It is disrespectful at best. If, for whatever reason, you can't "do as the Romans do," don't go to Rome.

Muslim ladies, pls do not cover your face in public. You needn't,Allah does not ask for it. Due to recent unsafety issues,it is hard to support cover your face, especially if you live in west.

I asked this to many islamic scholars, they all say that it is more traditional than religious. Be proud of yourself ,you are not a poisonous snake to bite horny men. You are mothers, you are teachers that we all appreciate.

So you as someone who doesn't belief in Allah are "educating" us muslim women what Allah does/doesn't require of us..makes sense.
Do you think muslim women care if you support them or not ?

Most niqabis in the west are educated they researched the issue of the face covering and willingly chose to wear it. So don't come and tell us what "many scholars" said.
And sorry to dissapoint you but we don't wear it because we are ashamed or because we belief all men are "tempted by our beauty" We don't live our lives for men nor do we worship them.
We belief it's an act of worship to get closer to God and it increases our spirituality.

So thanks, but no thanks

Do you really think you comprehend what I stated here?

I'm not a supporter of burqas and I have neutral view on hijab, but woman who wants to wear it let her.

There is NOTHING mentioned about covering ladies faces, niqab, miqab, does not matter for me for the vocabulary which I am not familiar in Qoran. Why do you still insist that there is?.

There simply is not. Pls read Koran and reread it.You will be surprised.

Where did I wrote that I insist on women to wear burqa, hijab, niqab? I said I don't support burqa and I don't have any view on hijab and it's completely up to a woman to chose if she wants to wear it or not. Read my post and reread it, you will be surprised.

P.S - I am reading the Quran

Please do not act as if you are qualified to interpret Quran verses or are able to give rulings in regards to Islamic issues.

If you really did study the issue of face covering, you would see that there is a difference of opinion among the 4 major schools of jurisprudence in regards to if it's part of the hijab or not. And yes this difference of opinion is based on the tafsiir (exegesis)of a verse in the Quran
The schools of jurisprudence that belief its not obligatory say it's a sunnah (voluntary act of worship)
