I think I misunderstood when I voted.

If we manage to get some sort of RF convention happening, the more the merrier.

For a small group get-together over dinner or the like, I'd probably be more selective.

Meeting someone I'd never met in person before one-on-one... that sets off enough internet safety alarm bells in my head that it'd have to be someone I especially trust.

Bah... I would probably pay to watch some members meet hehe.

Live debates. I wonder if we could organize that at various convention centers.

Running into people. Honestly I am in real life one of the most agreeable people you'll meet so long as you remain rational. To a degree I will even bite my tongue in the interest of sidestepping certain issues. (Discussing religion, politics and sex is usually poor social form for most people anyways)

I would meet pretty much anyone. I don't hate anyone.

I live in Houston, if anyone I've talked to is in town some weekend I'd be thrilled to grab dinner or something.

Especially Katzpur! :)

I'd like to meet many of the people on here. Of course it is easier said than done. Even when I was in Toronto for ten days I was so busy I didn't even think about trying to meet those of you who live near there. It's probably for the best that I never meet you. You'd probably all hate me in real life. It takes me a few days of getting to know people in real life before I can really talk to them.

I would love to do a group gathering of some sort, but I'm not too good with tete-a-tete's. I like listening to everyone else talk, more than I like to talk myself; it would be awkward if it was just one other person.

That said, there are certainly a couple people I'd love to meet in RL. :)

Same here... I had the pleasure of meeting a couple of RFers in person, and I pretty much just sat there in stunned silence listening the whole time. I'm not much of a conversationalist IRL.

But I'd enjoy listening to anyone here!

It wouldnt be the first time I'd meet someone I got to know on the internet.
one of the cool people I met in person after first befriending on the net was a Macedonian lady friend. we hooked up in London in person. we went to art exhibitions, out for drinks, even night clubbing.

If an RFer told you in advance that he or she was coming to the city or town where you live, would you want to meet him? Let's say he/she was in town for a five-hour layover and had some time to kill, or was here for two or three days. Would you want him to contact you in advance so you could at least meet and have lunch or, if there was time, show him around a bit. Or are your online acquaintances meant to be anonymous? If you could meet three RFers in person, who would they be?
We have been through Salt Lake City about 3 times. If we're ever through there again, I'd love to meet you Katzpur!

Really?!?!?!?! Cool! I'd love to meet you, too, Spinks! So if you're ever passing through Salt Lake remember that. And I'll let you know if I ever plan to be in Houston.

I already have! That's how I met GC, Gentoo and Violet. I'm usually up for meeting anybody, as long as we're not, like, mortal online enemies. ;) A few years ago, I met 60 people from my comic forum at the annual cookout, which was super fun. And Papersock and I met through the internet as well.

I've had plans to meet a couple former RFers. I've also planned on attending a convention from the other site.
