Charles Manson

The Kilted Heathen

Crow FreyjasmaðR
According to Heathen belief, Manson - as a murderer - has been devoured by the dragon Níðhöggr in the Hall of Náströnd. His name will live on, for a time, in infamy and dishonor.

Even though there is no such thing as hell, if there were, do you think Charles is there?
And do you think he SHOULD go there?

Of course, there is hell because we can have hell on earth. That's what Manson did. He caused hell on earth for those poor people. The evil belong in hell which is described as infinite and eternal death because of sin.

"The punishment of the wicked dead in hell is described throughout Scripture as “eternal fire” (Matthew 25:41), “unquenchable fire” (Matthew 3:12), “shame and everlasting contempt” (Daniel 12:2), a place where “the fire is not quenched” (Mark 9:44-49), a place of “torment” and “fire” (Luke 16:23-24), “everlasting destruction” (2 Thessalonians 1:9), a place where “the smoke of torment rises forever and ever” (Revelation 14:10-11), and a “lake of burning sulfur” where the wicked are “tormented day and night forever and ever” (Revelation 20:10)."

Now, whether this means being burned forever is questionable. I don't think it means that, but it's not a nice place.

What if you gave me a more reasonable hypothetical? I don't see how that could happen with anyone if I were to grant the hypothetical scenario of infinite time in an afterlife.

It does not have to be infinite time in the afterlife it could merely be infinite punishment that happens again and again and again till the person knows they are wrong. I think that it is reasonable because there are people who do not care about punishments, they will do it repeatedly, they are just crazy.

Crazy? If it's a disorder we're talking about, I don't think punishment is the right approach. That's just cruel and likely ineffective anyway.

Why did you support your argument with a premise you do not know the truth of?

1. Not only do you not know whether a Hell exists or not, you couldn't possibly know there was no Hell..
2. Even if it true that there is no such place as Hell exists, you still couldn't possibly know it.
3. You can't prove a universal negative. You have never been to every spot in this universe and checked to see that every square inch of it is missing a Hell. Even if you physically went to every part of the universe and never detected no Hells on your imaginary Hell detector you still couldn't claim that a spiritual Hell does not exist even if a physical one.

Not being able to prove a universal negative is such a universally accepted fact, you only undermine your own credibility by declaring the exact opposite. I would suggest you do a little bit of research into philosophy and metaphysics.

What about that Jesus guy? He is responsible for way more deaths than Hitler.
This statement comes from complete ignorance.
Until you actually know something about something, you should stick to commenting about something you do know.
Christianity may have been responsible for more deaths than Hitler, but you cannot blame Jesus for the actions of evil people, being led by evil people, who hijacked the name of Christ to make their evil look holy.

Actually I do know some truth, but the ONLY truth I know is that which I read in my bible. My bible version has no hell in it. None. Nothing. Zip. I avoid purposefully mistranslated versions, and watch out for errors, and take the entire bible as a whole to conclude what God’s message is on a subject. Also, I never ever believe anything said by any person unless I can verify it. So, for me, the truth is no hell.
I trust the Word of God only, not what a bunch of dead men invented centuries ago to scare people into following them.

I don’t need to research philosophy and metaphysics in order to ask a simple question.
If you were so offended by my simple question, I can only assume you need a hell for some reason. Maybe it’s a requirement of your religion. Feel free to keep the belief alive, just ignore my crazy ranting in the future.
Peace and God bless.

It’s don’t think it necessary for me to prove the nonexistence of something.
But your question was quite valid.
I should have phrased the question “even though I don’t think hell exists, etc”
My apologies.

The age old question of the metaphysics of the afterlife will always be a stalemate to the one postulating the claim.

He was sick and in denial of the fact that he planned those murders and brainwashed those women.

If he went to hell he'd probably be in denial that he was there.

But isn't it conjecture on your part to assume something you've never experienced does not exist?
No, it's the reasonable default setting.
What seems more reasonable: believing everything till disproven, or believing things as evidence of existence appears? Everything is an awful lot of stuff to believe in.

What bible would that be? The Christian bible refers to Hell dozens of times.

Hold the phone you switched arguments here.

1. First you said "your" bible (what bible that is, is not known) does not contain the doctrine of Hell.
2. Now you saying that you simply don't believe what the apostles when they wrote about Hell.

Which one of these contradictory view points do you actually believe.

I don’t need to research philosophy and metaphysics in order to ask a simple question.

So in the end what you consider to be true is equal to what you prefer. Your basically remaking God in your own image.

1. Your OP did not ask if Hell existed, you stated it didn't.
"Even though there is no such thing as hell"
2. I did not claim or suggest I need a Hell to exist, I didn't even say I believe there is one.
3. I did not claim or suggest it was a requirement of my religion.
4. I simply pointed out the fact that you can't possibly know whether there is a Hell or not. You just declared there wasn't then wasted a bunch of time drawing false conclusions from an unknowable premise.
