Robots aren't going to take Taiwan. And destroying Taiwan to 'conquer' it is just a huge waste of ... everything, with no real payoff in the end. Posturing is easy. Sabre-rattling is easy. War is very difficult, expensive, and usually gains very little in the end. And modern warfare is even trickier because of all the alliances and not knowing who will back whom when the bullets fly. Not to mention the fear of some idiot finally unleashing weaponry that destroys vast swaths of the planet.
Also, leaders need to beware, their people aren't so keen to go fight their stupid wars for them as they once were. Humans aren't quite that naive, anymore. Smart phones are everywhere, and people are talking to each other. It's a lesson Putin is learning the hard way.
