Christ like

Thief

Rogue Theologian
Christian.....of, pertaining to, having the characteristics of.......Christ

though the Carpenter is my Inspiration
I refrain from calling myself Christian

I am not worthy

I don't walk on water....it would be difficult to follow Him
I can't feed thousands.....I have a budget for groceries
I can't raise the dead
i am at the mercy of the weather
I will die of disease or accident...I can't heal anyone else.....hardly myself

and though i look forward to a continuance
it's not up to me

If Jesus didn't go to church, how is going to church Christ like?

Jesus didn't go into church buildings built with human hands to preach the gospel ( voice ) of God. Whatever Jesus spoke was the church of the invisible Christ called the Spirit that gives life.

John 6
63: It is the spirit that gives life, the flesh is of no avail; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.

St. Paul said it best about religion and human built church buildings and altars.

Acts 17
24: The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in shrines made by man,
25: nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he himself gives to all men life and breath and everything.
26: And he made from one every nation of men to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their habitation,
27: that they should seek God, in the hope that they might feel after him and find him. Yet he is not far from each one of us,
28: for ..In him we live and move and have our being'; as even some of your poets have said, ..For we are indeed his offspring.'
29: Being then God's offspring, we ought not to think that the Deity is like gold, or silver, or stone, a representation by the art and imagination of man.

There was no church until after Jesus rose from the dead. Jesus founded the Church.

And Jesus went to synagogues regularly.

You are unaware of what us servants have to go through to preach the gospel of God to God's chosen believers.

1 Corithians 4
10 We are fools for Christ's sake, but you are prudent in Christ; we are weak, but you are strong; you are distinguished, but we are without honor.
11 To this present hour we are both hungry and thirsty, and are poorly clothed, and are roughly treated, and are homeless;
12 and we toil, working with our own hands; when we are reviled, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure;
13 when we are slandered, we try to conciliate; we have become as the scum of the world, the dregs of all things, even until now.
14 I do not write these things to shame you, but to admonish you as my beloved children.
15 For if you were to have countless tutors in Christ, yet you would not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel.

Then the religious heathens had the servants killed as planned;

Psalm 79.
1. O God, the heathen have come into thy inheritance; they have defiled thy holy temple; they have laid Jerusalem in ruins.
2. They have given the bodies of thy servants to the birds of the air for food, the flesh of thy saints to the beasts of the earth.
3. They have poured out their blood like water round about Jerusalem, and there was none to bury them.

Revelation 6
9: When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the witness they had borne;
10: they cried out with a loud voice, "O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before thou wilt judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell upon the earth?"
11: Then they were each given a white robe and told to rest a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brethren should be complete, who were to be killed as they themselves had been.

Revelation 20
4: Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom judgment was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their testimony to Jesus and for the word of God, and who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life, and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

On the day of the Lord, the plan is to kill all the flesh of man born of Satan and those who worship the beast and slaughtered God's prophets and saints.

Revelation 18
17: In one hour all this wealth has been laid waste." And all shipmasters and seafaring men, sailors and all whose trade is on the sea, stood far off
18: and cried out as they saw the smoke of her burning, "What city was like the great city?"
19: And they threw dust on their heads, as they wept and mourned, crying out, "Alas, alas, for the great city where all who had ships at sea grew rich by her wealth! In one hour she has been laid waste.
20: Rejoice over her, O heaven, O saints and apostles and prophets, for God has given judgment for you against her!"
21: Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, "So shall Babylon the great city be thrown down with violence, and shall be found no more;
22: and the sound of harpers and minstrels, of flute players and trumpeters, shall be heard in thee no more; and a craftsman of any craft shall be found in thee no more; and the sound of the millstone shall be heard in thee no more;
23: and the light of a lamp shall shine in thee no more; and the voice of bridegroom and bride shall be heard in thee no more; for thy merchants were the great men of the earth, and all nations were deceived by thy sorcery.
24: And in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints, and of all who have been slain on earth."

There was no church until after Jesus rose from the dead. Jesus founded the Church.

"Founded" is a verb, the past participle of found.

Founded
Verb
  1. past participle of found
  2. (nonstandard, childish) simple past tense and past participle of find
  3. To set up; to launch; to institute.

So for Jesus to have "founded" the Church he would have had to actively and purposely put together its various aspects, and have been in control of the the religion's initial development, which, according to the Biblical scholars I've read, is something Paul was more responsible for. To say that Jesus is the "founder" of Christianity is playing fast and loose with the word, and is more of an honorific than an indication of actual achievement. Not that Christians can't regard Jesus however they want, but to non-Christians, it comes across as a specious and unmerited acclaim.

Just sayin'......................... So, although the thought may bring joy to your heart, I wouldn't waste it on the unbelievers.

It was pagan worshipers who formed all the religions of the world. Christianity was never started by God's servants.

That's another question you would know the answer to if you would just familiarize yourself with Christ's teaching. I suggest reading the book of Matthew.
i've read the collection of books many, many times.

you really should. it enhances the one you thought was special. god is a very diverse thing.
There are many ideas of gods, yes. Mostly you will find references in atheistic arguments, or metaphorical "idea" references, etc. Are those "gods", or are they archetypes etc.
do you know the language of the birds?

Is there a wrong answer to that?

Save it. You know that Jesus founded the Church. If you think He didn't you're not on a sufficient intellectual level to discuss this intelligently.
