from personal oppinion i would say about 5% of the world are true christians while the rest just claim to be but really arent. After seeing the so-called "true christians" thrown money into a girls cleavage and beat up retarded people, as well as every where else i go in the US, i make this judgement. Thats why i like to call myself Aetherian rather than Christian (though i usually dont, and i believe christian beliefs), because i dont want to either be identified by non-christians as someone who is a bible-thumping whacko or somone who says they are a christian and then goes out and does some sort of crap

Edit:

I dont concider myself a true christian, and most of you probably arent

Exactly!

You ought not to be shame of your faith. Now who are you to judge who are christians. Only GOD knows. There shall be a number that no man can number of Christians that shall stand before Christ, YOU ARE NOT TO JUDGE ANY OF THEM, nor to try and have the opinion that MOST of Christians are going to hell. It is Sad and horrible to infer that 95% of Christians are not really christian. Have you met every Christian? Do you know if they really Believe on Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior?

Check yourself before you start trying to Judge the World.

P.S.-There is no such thing as a True CHristian. You're either Christian or not, there is no middle Way. You either Believe in Jesus or you dont, That is what Makes you Christian(Belief in Jesus). NOT HOW YOU ACT.

Yeah, it could be considered such. Cynicism is a "negative attitude" or "distrust" towards the motives of others.

If I could make my own definition, I would say cynicism is the breakdown and analysis of the surrounding world into the smallest schale possible. Most people are more comfortable with looking at things from a larger scale, or a further distance, in a more abstract, not very accurate, sense, that allows for looser interpretation.

So a mass murderer and child molestor that believes in Jesus is a Christian and goes to heaven?
And someone who doesn't believe in Jesus but helps everyone he can and never harms another and unknowingly follows the path that Jesus wanted people to follow, is not a Christian, and goes to hell?

From what I understand cynicism is just a result of skepticism.

could be, but isn't necessarily. i would consider myself a skeptic, but not a cynic.

yes. i think using the term 'christian' as anything other than 'someone who believes that jesus was the son of god etc.' leads to confusion. when discussed, 'acting in the spirit of christ' (whatever that is) would be a better term.

this is not specifically directed at you, opethian, but intended as a general suggestion.

Imagine someone who does not know you at all coming to you for something you have that is most valued ... In human terms we might say who are you and why do you come to me??? Imagine a completely Divine and Loving response to same inquiry... From One whose only intention is to do what is right in the most immaculate and unselfish way possible... Imagine what that response would be... If you can do that then you have the answer to your questions... Thank You...
