Christians: How could Earth only be 6000 years old?

It doesnt make sense! We have found bows and arrows that are a million years old! OUR WRITTEN LANGUAGE WAS MADE 10,000 YEARS AGO. (Speaking of language, in the Bible it says human built a tower to reach God but he broke it and made the languages, if this is true, wouldn't that mean heaven was in the clouds; humans of that time couldn't breath in outer space.) Just want to hear your thoughts!

Here is a good answer. Because God made it so. All of the evidence otherwise was just placed there by Satan and scientists, which there is no difference between. Now I think that is drivel, but it answers your question from one point of view.

it says 'in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth' so the earth was created in the 'beginning' along with the rest of the universe

the 6 'days' only describes how God prepared the existing earth for habitation.

Again? Every time someone else asks this question, I answer the same way: Not all Christians believe that the earth is only 6 thousand years old. :areyoucra

Yes, many literalistic Christians adhere to the 6-10 thousand year old Earth interpretation of the Old Testament. An extremely unrealistic position to hold.
However, there are many Christians who do not ignore reality and see the allegorical aspects of the Bible.

For example, when something is dated, it could be anywhere from 300 years to millions of years. It could be something a day old, or something ancient, and to the same conclusiveness.
Fossils and such are re-dated until they come back with a satisfactory age, which deems a possibility.
This isn't a secret, it just happens to be left out when these techniques are explained. More modern dating techniques are simply variants of older ones, in which they conclude an age of something in relevance to their general hypothesis.

Actually, biblical events more than suffice for fossil fuels, giant 'caveman' fossils, etc., A flood would have made enough pressure to rapidly produce the fuels we use today. There are giant humans in the bible, which we see bones of. It goes on and on.
