When my computer reaches the point where it isn't worth the effort to upgrade or repair, I save what's important to me, like the images of my family, and throw away the old computer and get a new computer that is better by every metric. That old TI994A, Commodore 64 and MacPlus just reached the point of no return.

God does the same thing. There is a point where he proposes to save his Church to heaven while he installs CREATION 2.0 and then transfer all of his important 'children' to the new creation. I understand that it will be in every way better than CREATION 1.0 ever was.
