Law divides human behavior into right and wrong, and good and evil. Law is connected to the tree of knowledge of good and evil in the Garden of Eden. This tree was occupied by Satan. This tree was not to be eaten of. Law is connected to original sin.
Law is a unique form of neural memory. It is not found in nature. Law of good and evil creates a polarization within the human mind that is not natural. Law is like a two sided coin with one side labeled good and the other sided label evil. If we flip a coin, when it land we can only see one side at a time. The other side remains part of the coin but is hidden.
With law even if you do good, the bad side of the coin is still part of the law memory. We need to know both sides to do good and avoid evil. One side becomes hidden causing evil to become unconscious. This is why the self righteous, who outwardly obey the law, can become cruel and intolerant; unconscious compulsion from the hidden flip side of the coin. Law is not natural.
Law was useful in terms of helping humans develop will power and choice. One can use law to learn to choose which side of the law coin will be up, good or evil. However, since this two sided coins perpetuates knowledge of both good and evil and that other side becomes unconscious, evil can be spawned from good; ends justified the means.. For example, the spying on Trump Campaign in 2016 is still justified as good by the left and media even though spying was illegal and therefore evil by the law. The confusion between conscious and unconscious choices; two sided coin, can mess with the mind.
Jesus saw this polarization caused by the tree of knowledge and Satan. The unconscious dark side caused the Pharisees to condemn an innocent man in the name of law. Jesus taught faith instead of law. Faith is similar to animal instinct where the animal acts on impulse, without needing to assess good and evil based on cultural norms. This approach is the tree of life. Jesus is said it is not yes and no, but yes in him; psychological polarization is healed.
With the charisma of faith and the tree of life, decisions become very similar to the good side of the law, since nature is basically good. But there is no unconscious evil lurking below the threshold of consciousness created by law. Law was sort of a prosthesis to help create a contrasting scaffolding, so the good could be seen and understood. Jesus removed the prosthesis of evil; contrast, so only the good was left through faith. Law is not good, only the good side of law is good. Law is good and evil.
