I don't have St Paul here but I am sure he would be preserving the faith that he believed in with a passion I believe the same - he talked about it so much and tried to prevent error in the belief many times. He also said to stand fast in the faith.
I am simply following my faith.

If the proper theology is behind it I agree 100%. But if its not then it becomes a trick question getting me to betray my faith by agreeing. Don't people want to completely understand their faith I guess not - I do.
If you don't understand your faith how do you know if your being led astray?
Jesus said many would come in my name but to stand fast . I didn't just go to Church I have a very religious upbringing in many faiths so its all important to me and I won't generalize Christianity it has to be clear if your putting you faith in it
Also: for the record I do indeed consider theology to be extremely important. It's just not the single most important thing. I do not understand why you feel that your love/faith of Christ requires you to deny love/faith of others.

Can you help me understand?

Do you believe a man must pass a theology test in order to earn salvation? I doubt that's the case. I don't understand.

Ask the Prophet if it matters I am pretty confident in what his answer would be. He would never go against the theology or accept a mixed bag.

I'm Catholic and the consensus was because Jesus is a God and not the one God of the Trinity among other things I cannot accept your faith its not the same as ours. The Catholic Church will hold to this belief as they say until the end as I am sure almost all of my Protestant brothers and sisters will do so also.

Converted Catholic I was Protestant I was told the Catholic Church was evil preached a false Gospel ( I actually expected to hear a different Gospel and then I realized it was about the sacraments) and all sorts of crazy things so I had to check it out to see if it was true - none of it was true as I found out there are differences but not in the core belief it was not a problem for me and I eventually converted

Then you're first hand familiar with how other can misrepresent what another believes!

Do you understand that I am not asking partake of the Eucharist at Mass? I have zero desire to do so, and find the very idea of me doing so to be extremely disrespectful/dishonest of myself & Catholicism.

Thats is why I said it is important to understand what you believe or you might find yourself in a place you never wanted to be.
I believe in the Catholic faith its where I want to be .Which if you want to know about you will have to check out for yourself I had to check out yours to understand it.
It a common response from a Catholic when asked what their faith is for some reason to always respond with Catholic without really thinking about it and assuming its understood . Other do it too I'm Baptist I'm Methodist I'm Anglican.

I have thoroughly studied LDS Christian beliefs for decades.

I also studied Catholicism in particular for a decade, and then again for an intensive 11 months. And by studied I mean attend Mass, witness the Sacraments, ask questions of knowledgeable practicing Catholics and listen to the answers, reading Catholic literature cover to cover, etc. Learn what people beleive directly from them, with two feet in.

I don't consider quickly reading few websites to be studying at all.

But is it clear that I’m not claiming to be Catholic and have zero desire to partake of the Eucharist at Mass? There’s no secret infiltration or anything like that.

Nobody will even ask unless you say your not Catholic why would you participate? The doctrine is closed you could never change anything if you did infiltrate and no one is worried about you seeing anything your welcome anytime there is nothing to see that is secret all is in the open just like every other church . You already know this if you have been to a Catholic Church. Nobody is going to ask if you are Catholic or stop you from participating I have never seen a person challenged or rejected. If you have watched then you know that a person who identify s as a non Catholic gets a blessing instead. Its really the honor system its expected that people will be honest.

When the Church split the Catholic Church kept the history and traditions the people who left only had the Bible I don't mean that as an insult its a fact. Some are still bible only. Today many have communion but not with the same belief have a history and their own traditions.Time had to pass for it to happen. I went to a non denominational church and they had communion. An Anglican service will be very similar to a Catholic one same with a Lutheran. I have gone to all.

You are like my LDS friend he was just as solid in his faith I like to believe I am too - but he didn't deny anything he would just say yes that is what is says - he agreed that the perception of God is different and rejected the Trinity he stood completely by his faith not trying to hide anything he was open and honest. I respect him for that. There was no deception in him at all.

@Peter Stanley , I know it's the Catholic Church official position to require a person to acknowledge Church Councils in order to count as a "Christian" in official Catholic Church stance.

However, LDS Christian's don't look to the Catholic Church for the definition of "Christian". Rather, the Bible says that a Christian is a disciple of Christ, and that's the simple definition LDS Christians use. And telling someone to "You can't say that you're a Christian" is literally denying their relationship with Christ and asking them to deny Christ. Which needless to say people have a problem with.

I understand if you feel the need to uphold the official Catholic position. Do you understand why I am so passionate about my stance?

Actually all one need to do to know what Catholics believe or any faith is read the Catechism which is a description right down to the last detail - actually its a long read and not very exciting I did manage to get through it. No you don't have to have it beside you when you read the bible (another one) its not there to convert anyone its a complete description right down to the last detail. Most Catholics have never read it - it would help a Catholic who is reading a bible to understand better. I never use it. But I can just look it up if I want to clarify something but it hasn't come up yet . I believe the LDS has one I never looked.
There are 8 Protestant catechisms Lutheran catechisms.Reformed catechisms.Baptist catechisms.Pentecostal catechisms.Anglican catechism.Methodist catechisms.Socinian and other sectarian catechisms.Roman Catechism. I believe the Roman one is Catholic I could be wrong.

That wasn’t what I asked...

Then its what i said it was its a label for anyone who believes in Jesus regardless of the theology. But the theology is not different with the other Protestant Churches so there is no problem with their theology and it was never an issue But in the LDS there is a problem I cannot do it. I am sorry.

When Joseph Smith put flesh and bone on God the father he forever separated the LDS . I told you that's what the problem was Jesus is God but not the main God but he is even with God the father the Trinity does not have two human bodies Jesus is the only one. That is simply not what we believe. I have no problem with any other Christian Church that is too much for me maybe someone else will agree with you I can't.

I understand you wanted to uphold the Catholic position.

I asked if you understood my position. Not if you agreed, but can you understand.
