What is required for salvation, with no exceptions?
Depends who you listen to...
  • According to Paul, you must believe that jesus is your lord and saviour; that by his death, and resurrection you're saved.
  • According to John, you must believe in jesus, and that salvation was sent to the Jews.
  • According to Yeshua within the synoptic gospels, you must follow his words to the letter, with all the criteria; then if you make it to the end, you'll be saved.
As you can understand most Christians follow the first easier options. :innocent:

I believe the following is required:

1. Accurate knowledge of God and his Son (John 17:3)
2. Exercise faith in God and Jesus (John 3:16)
3. Sincere repentance for sins we commit (Acts 3:19)
4. Turning away from past sinful conduct.(Acts 26:20)
5. Dedicate oneself to God (Matthew 16:24)
6. Baptism (1 Peter 3:21)
7. Faithfully enduring in doing God's will to the end. (Matthew 24:13)

What is salvation? Mere repentance is enough for God, should He be in the mood to forgive you, and supposedly all sins outside of blaspheming the Holy Spirit are forgivable. Is salvation being "purified" of sin? Is it going to heaven? Can a saved person go to hell by choice? Can unsaved people go to heaven?

Jesus notes that essentially you get out what you pay in:

If you are just kinda run-of-the-mill nice to everyone, you will get a run-of-the-mill reward.

If you are an outstanding saint, you will get lots of praise.

If you are any of the above and advertise it, you get nothing, because you already got your public reward on Earth.

What about sadists or masochists? What if what someone likes to have done to them creeps other people out?
post as a topic.....and we can go for the long run....
for now..

I believe we end up with others who think and feel as we do
how else to be happy?
how else to be fair?

so the Golden Rule is a code of behavior
and fair warning

it will be done unto you as you have done unto others

the categories you mention are of mindset.....this life....
I suspect something else in the next life

Wait...what? [emoji4]

Do you God's will is true, or do you mean God's will is that we discover what is true?

Everything and everything that occurs. So the truth is not only what we've discovered and verified, but everything we will and won't discover and/ or verify.

I think 7) is enough, if God's will includes to fulfill the previous 6 points.
