This is a prophecy about Muhammad and the book of Malachi confirms this and he's called the Messenger of the Covenant and also the desire or the praised and he comes after Jesus and John the Baptist.
First
Haggai 2 (KJV)
6 For thus saith the Lord of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land;
7 And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the Lord of hosts.
Someone posted earlier that this means bringing Gold or riches to the Temple, this doesn't make sense, because God says I will shake all nations, how is bringing simple treasure to a Temple shaking all the nations? It means God is planning to shake the whole Hebrew and world up, by sending a Arab prophet and taking everything away from the Children of Israel and giving it to the rejected stone and making them head of the House.
9 The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the Lord of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the Lord of hosts.
This is talking about the peace that's given to Mecca and not Israel, because there was never peace at the second Temple built, ever and Christian Scholars commentaries agree, this is talking about Mecca and the Kabba and not about Jerusalem.
Haggai 2:9 Commentaries: 'The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former,' says the LORD of hosts, 'and in this place I will give peace,' declares the LORD of hosts."
The temple itself was profaned by Antiochus Epiphanes (1 Macc. 1:39, 40). "Her sanctuary was laid waste like a wilderness. As had been her glory, so was her dishonor increased." Again by Pompey (Josephus, Ant. xiv. 4. 4. B. J. i. 7.) by Crassus (Josephus, Ant. xiv. 7. 1. B. J. i. 9. 8), the Parthians (Josephus, Ant. xiv. 13. 3. 4.) before it was destroyed by Titus and the Romans. Jews saw this and, knowing nothing of the peace in Jesus, argued from the absence of outward peace, that the prophecy was not fulfilled under the second temple.
Like i said this prophecy is talking about the peace that was given to the House of God in Becca or Mecca the Kabba and the desire or praised one he's going to shake the heavens and fulfill this prophecy and this is Muhammad and it can't be anyone else.
It also could be interpreted as giving the religion of Islam to Mecca at the House of God, or it means both peace finally in Mecca and Islam to mecca and the world.
And i will shake the nations and the praised or desire ( Muhammad ) of all nations will come and I will fill this house the ( Kabba ) with glory saith the Lord of hosts.
The glory of this latter house the( Kabba) will be greater then the previous house in Jerusalem and i will give peace to this place.
Malachi confirms 3 prophets to come, the first is John the Baptist the messenger to prepare the way for the lord Jesus the Messiah and then also the messenger of the covenant whom you desire or praise, he's also coming.
Three distinct prophets mention and the conjunction waw meaning also or and, that separates these three distinct prophets.

Malachi 3:1
"Look, I send my messenger, and he will prepare the way before me; and the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to his temple; and the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, look, he comes." says the LORD of hosts.

Also the Hebrews in the New Testament were waiting for 3 distinct prophets Elijah John the Baptist the Christ Jesus and That prophet Muhammad. John was even asked if he's one of these 3 and he said no, maybe because he didn't know he was Elijah, because Jesus said John is Elijah, in spirit and we know Jesus was the Christ, but who's the 3rd prophet the one like Moses the messenger of the covenant.
There's no interpretation needed there's 3 different prophets coming and one is called the messenger and the other is called the lord which Jesus is called lord in the New Testament and he came to the Temple of God and the last messenger is the one everyone desired or praises and he's actually called the messenger of the covenant, the last and final messenger of God Muhammad, this can't be Jesus because according to Christianity Jesus isn't a messenger he's Gods son also the conjunction also or and, comes right after the prophecy about Jesus the lord or master, so the messenger of the covenant can't be Jesus, but a different prophet, the comforter coming after Jesus who Jesus told everyone about, the spirit of truth, or prophet of truth like,1 John says
1 John 4:1
1
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God. For many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2By this you will know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God,…
John 16:13
But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
How can the Holy spirit not speak of his own power according to Christianity he's actually God himself and not like Jesus, because this isn't Gods force or his simple power, but a messenger from God like Jesus who was a comforter himself and he's saying i will pray to the father to give you another comforter, like me, to teach you the truth of all things and show you the future and give me glory and this is what Muhammad did, he glorifies Jesus and speaks the truth about Jesus not being God and only being Gods messenger and Mary being a heavily women and a virgin and Jesus being kind and loving to his mother and to the people.
The one whom your desire the messenger of the covenant and the spirit of truth from Paran coming with a fiery Law with ten thousand saints, my elite my servant whom i uphold and the people of Kedar Ishmael will sing and rejoice Isaiah chapter 42
Haggai 2 also Habakkuk 3 and Deuteronomy chapter 33 John 16:13 and Isaiah 29-12 and the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying read and he says, i am not learned all of these prophecies and even more in the Bible are talking about Muhammad and this isn't even debatable.
Muhammad was predicted to come in the Gospel of John:
Muhammad in the Gospel of John
Also other people in history actually claimed to be the Comforter or Paraclete in history, that Jesus foretold, so this isn't anything new and if people are making this claim then your interpretation isn't correct and people were actually waiting for another prophet after Jesus.
