"What do I think? I think that there are millions of profoundly unhappy people on this planet as we speak and it is totally unrealistic to expect that they will all just suffer in silence. Many of them will inevitably become very frustrated & angry & violent. It's poetic justice if you really think about it but few people can HANDLE the truth!"

"What do I think? I think that I went through a LONG period of being completely anti-social. I had ZERO interest in ANY conversation with ANY normal human being. So things can change rather dramatically. My own personal metamorphosis still amazes me to this day! I am profoundly grateful yet utterly perplexed at the same time - I mean why me and not everyone else who is suffering!?"

Amazing timing - an email -

I can't even tell you how many times I've seen this:

"I can't practice mindfulness because my MIND is too busy"

OR

"I can't practice mindfulness because my LIFE is too busy"

And I totally get it! I felt the same way when I first learned about mindfulness.

I didn't create a consistent mindfulness practice for a long time because I didn't have much spare time...

And even when I did have spare time, I felt like there was so much on my mind that the idea of "practicing mindfulness" was overwhelming - I didn't want to sit still and try to keep my mind quiet for even one minute!

Forgot to include the link - oh no!

Cheers!

"The things that trouble our spirits are within us already. In meditation we must face them, accept them, and set them aside one by one"
