Be yourself.

Talk about your interests, community service, extracurricular activities, and honors/awards. Tell them what you learned and how you intend to use and strengthen these skills to be successful in college and beyond.

Be breif - tell them only the bottom line information - don't include fluff.

Well I talked about my speech impediment and how I have strived to improve myself. What would constitute "fluff"?

Remember that you are trying to sell yourself. Make yourself look good, boast your achievements, show passion about your interest and goals, and let them know why they should pick you.

I think I have enough application experiences to be of some use.

Tell me some more.

How old are you? Whether you're applying from high school, or community college, or applying as an adult after having taking some time off? What you plan on majoring in? What work experiences, extracurricular activities, and interests are?

If you're applying from high school or community college, tell me your cumulative GPA, applicable SAT scores, or ACT scores are.

most importantly, tell me which schools you are applying to.

Let the college know why you are applying to them and not to others. Highlight what that particular college can do to further your career / interests.

Edit: Oh, and good luck!

My advice: Apply to colleges that don't want essays.
I am curious about this? A college that would require an essay is looking for specific people. It doesn't always mean it's a good, highly credible, or prestigious university, but if they are looking for specific people, and they believe you are one of those people, it can potentially be a good college match.

XKatz what college are you planning on applying to if you don't mind that I ask?

I thought about going to Purdue, but the amount I would have to do to transfer is just outrageous for being a Psychology major, especially since I really suck at math. But their Liberal Arts and Computer related fields are among some of the best in not just the state, but also the nation. IU I really didn't consider mainly because I could find better in the state, but also because everyone here goes to a subdivision of IU, called Indiana University of Kokomo (IUK). The degree is as good as a degree from IU, it's a cheaper alternative when considering travel, housing (for most students, especially the younger ones who still live their parents), and tuition, but everyone goes there. Myself, I'm really hoping to go to Ball State.

Never admit it was you who got Star Trek cancelled.
No. Especially if you have a teacher who is like one of mine this semester. He is such a big nerd that if you even joked about that he might fail you. A rude remark about Star Wars might do the same, but he is very much indeed a Trekkie, so don't tread on that. And not too mention he is extremely intelligent so you could be in for a very long explanation on why you should not have done such a sinful act, that will cover grounds and areas that you had no idea that where even being considered or existed.
