Comey's Testimony

There is a difference between being aware and having fruitless discussions about an outcome that hasn't happened yet.
Personally, I see having discussions as part of being aware. Heck, we talk about the new movie coming out or the draft outcome of our favorite sports teams. I don't understand the derision about discussing the latest developments in our nation's government.

The first question is...was Comeys testimony the truth.
Or is Trumps rebuttal the truth.?

The second question is...who is the more trustworthy and who do you believe?
One aspect: Comey's testimony was under oath. Trump's, so far, is not.

I'm in. Until its over and a verdict is given, anything else is a waste of time.

I am getting back to my reading and enjoying summer. People here are already fairly dug in and I don't see minds changing too much; at this point it is just a bunch of back and forth bickering.

My thought would be that we rarely have discussions at all. Most of the time, they degrade to school-yard hissy fits about who is right/wrong. In regards to politics, it is so polarized right now that the best we can hope for is an "agree to disagree" outcome. As for me, I will save my sanity until a conclusion is given.

Summer has been great for me so far. A far better way to spend time is to be out and about doing stuff.

8) the President is currently not being personally investigated, but this does not mean he has been cleared, or will never be personally investigated.

Anything I missed?

The takeaway is not that Trump's not currently under investigation. Comey was testifying as to what was the status then, when their meetings occurred, not what may or may not be the case now. Whether Trump is under investigation now is a whole other thing and something he can't speak to (at least, not publicly) since he's no longer FBI Director. Trumplethinskin and his minions are spinning something that hasn't been established. The only thing Comey's statements mean is that information on Trump's Russian escort escapades etc. were discovered by looking into others, not investigating him directly at the time.

Ok, I will agree to stop commenting on anything dealing with the Russia collusion, the firing of ex-FBI Director Comey, and anything said in private between President Trump and ex-FBI Director Comey. Until the results of the investigation Mueller investigation is over. Fair enough? Anyone else willing to do so?

I will not. And I don't believe it's possible for a pro-Usa patriot to do so either.

Trump has a history of lying and dissembling and following his own interests, even when they conflict with the countries. It doesn't matter whether you support his vision and policies, this is a fact. He did promise to release his tax returns before the election, but decided not to do so. He picked people for top offices in his campaign and administration that had irregular connections with a hostile global power. So irregular that those people lied about them.

Maybe that doesn't matter. But Trump has made it clear that he doesn't want all this investigated. So it is incumbent upon patriots to make sure that it is investigated, thoroughly. Otherwise, we won't know whether our President is engaged in treason (selling out our security interests) or not.
If Trump isn't, great. But if he is, he is far more dangerous to us than ISIS or illegal workers.

So, no! Taking a "wait and see" attitude is utterly anti-USA. If Trump is allowed to just keep everybody's attention focused on things like"Obama illegally wiretapping Trump Towers" and "I am treated more unfairly than any other President", by the time we find out that he's sold us out like so many Trump University students it will be too late to do anything about it.

I realize that this post might be really annoying in case you can see it, but there was definitely something wrong with the way that interviewer dressed. Believe me, I am NOT into fashion, but what is wrong with some people?

What struck me was Comey's lack of leadership. Probably more used to dealing with politicians than a businessman.

If you'er not sure what you are being asked to do, first clarify it, voice your objections, then ask for it in writing.

Trump probably had no idea he was asking anything out of the ordinary. Comey had the opportunity and responsibility to explain the situation to him. He failed to do so. I'd expect to get fired too.
Trump is the President. He has advisors who are tasked with enlightening him to political norms and the importance of keeping things appropriate. Any kind of ignorance as to what is appropriate is 100% on Trump. First, he has to admit that he needs help and is out of his element. Then, his advisors should educate him.

I see what you're up to, bub.
You think the article is somehow anti-Comey, & consequently pro-Trump.
So you object to it as irrelevant.
Wrongo pongo!
It appears that more info will come out than in formal testimony.
This means the controversy has legs, despite his inconclusive statements so far.
And then there looms the potential issue of divulging it for pay.

The reason it's being discussed today here is your bringing it up once again.
Ironic, eh?
Usually when people bring up deals involing lots of money like this the intent is to cast shade on the person recieving the money. Like when people said that the women accusing Trump of sexual harrassment were sueing him for money. The impication is that money corrupts, and if anyone is recieving large sums of money they can't have a be telling the truth.

Now, if you tell me that this was not your intention, that you didn't bring this up inorder to imply something about Comey's motives, then all I can say is I don't believe you.

I'm a big fan of making money.
No one should assume what is "usually" the case when it's possibly offensive.
Like when people said that the women accusing Trump of sexual harrassment were sueing him for money.
Not an accusation I'd make without evidence.
What'll you accuse me of next....suffocating puppies?

The impication is that money corrupts, and if anyone is recieving large sums of money they can't have a be telling the truth.
Someone else brought up the possibility of corruption.
It didn't occur to me that Comey was corrupted by money.
Now, if you tell me that this was not your intention, that you didn't bring this up inorder to imply something about Comey's motives....
You're finally on the right track.
Tis always best to ask instead of presuming the worst.
.....then all I can say is I don't believe you.
I think you're a prejudiced idiot with halitosis.
And trying to avoid admitting an error of judgement.
But hey, no one's perfect.
(I'm bad at communicating my intent.)
