Communism/Socialism v. Capitalism - which one is better really?

yes, and let's not forget that welfare is a capitalist tool as I've already mentioned.

Not sure how the system worked in the Soviet Union for those out of work but I imagine there was some kind of obligation to turn up to work if you were able.

You can still get paid different amounts in a socialist system, it doesn't need to be literal financial equality for everyone.

As has been said, sure you can get paid more if you work, but you're still taking peoples' money that do work when you don't have to. Might as well just stay home, skip school, live without a job, you will survive and possibly have enough entertainment.

And how about welfare/free health in most Western nations - do you think that should be abolished?

Most definitely.

Please explain to me the process of your monetary accumulation.

It's simple you see. What's yours is yours, and yours only. If you believe in sharing money, I want to see you give a homeless man your computer.

Says who?

"From each according to their abilities, to each according to their needs" is a communist slogan, and even that rejects your premise.

Heh, funny you say that when Communism is practically the opposite of that. People make money off other people working.

You just stated that Communism was where people made money off of others' work. If this isn't Capitalism, please tell me how it isn't.

You misread.

I meant people that don't work or work easier jobs make some of the earned money from the people that work hard jobs.

If there is no accumulation of wealth, then please explain what a dollar is.

A dollar is money, when you've earned it, it's yours' and yours' only, not the government's, not the peoples', not anyone's besides yourself.

Serious, sounds like the top crust in Capitalsim to me. Please explain how someone breaking their back at the bottom of the pyramid gets paid less for their work than the CEO.

So money isn't money, and you can't have it given or taken from you... Where does wealth come from?

Wealth: 1. a great quantity or store of money, valuable possessions, property, or other riches: the wealth of a city. 2. an abundance or profusion of anything

So, please, tell me how the wealthy gain their money.

Because without CEOs we're practically screwed? They're more needed. And doctors will get paid not much less, along with firefighters, etc all of them more important jobs.

How does that make a difference though, how does that at all sound like Capitalism? In Capitalism your earned money is all your own money. In Communism/Socialism, your earned money is not all your money.

Now we are arguing philosophy. Who determines how much work is worth?

We would not be screwed without CEOs, we are screwed by them. And Doctors get paid, but not as much as CEOs, and Firefighters, LOL, they don't get paid nearly as much as Doctors...

A society is a total of its parts, if you state that we can't fuction without CEOs, explain how we can fuction without lineworkers.

Realism?

You can't tell me Garbage Men or Fast Food Workers are more needed than Doctors.

I never said Firefighters get paid as much as Doctors, Firefighters are less important.

Doctors are less important than the CEOs

Explain how we are screwed by the CEOs?

We can't easily but they are not as important as CEOs.
