I was curious if this had changed since the last time I took the quiz. I do consider myself a Libertarian with conservative leanings.

Your political compass

Economic Left/Right: 3.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.31

Here's where I stand. I don't know if a few of the questions were wholly accurate, as my economic/political vocabulary is rather rusty. But, oh well. I ended up roughly where I thought I'd end up.

Been 4 years, let's see if anything's changed.

According to this one, I've gone even further down the same path as I become more confident of my beliefs.

Funny how I'm down on the "libertarian" side of the scale, since I have a pretty low opinion of libertarian philosophy, and answered many of the questions in ways that I'm pretty sure libertarians, at least based on my experience, would disagree with me quite strongly on. Makes me question the use of "libertarian" here.

They don't use the common N Americastanian definition, which is about both economic & social liberty.
Have you ever tried this quiz (which is based upon the Nolan chart)?

It might fit your expectations better.

I don't remember what I scored back 7 years ago or so but I'm assuming it was close to the same. I think I was a little higher to the middle on the left side of the chart back then.

Economic Left/Right: -7.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.51

Not surprising. Dead left of center. :D

Your PERSONAL issues Score is 80%

Your ECONOMICS issues Score is 20%

According to your answers, the political group that agrees with you most is...

LEFT (LIBERAL)

Liberals usually embrace freedom of choice in personal matters, but tend to support significant government control of the economy. They generally support a government-funded "safety net" to help the disadvantaged, and advocate strict regulation of business. Liberals tend to favor environmental regulations, defend civil liberties and free expression, support government action to promote equality, and tolerate diverse lifestyles.

LIBERTARIAN

Libertarians support maximum liberty in both personal and economic matters. They advocate a much smaller government; one that is limited to protecting individuals from coercion and violence. Libertarians tend to embrace individual responsibility, oppose government bureaucracy and taxes, promote private charity, tolerate diverse lifestyles, support the free market, and defend civil liberties.

1. Government should not censor speech, press, media, or internet. AGREE

2. Military service should be voluntary. There should be no draft. AGREE

3. There should be no laws regarding sex for consenting adults. AGREE

4. Repeal laws prohibiting adult possession and use of drugs. AGREE

5. There should be no National ID card. AGREE

Yet, somehow I'm at the maximum level of statist.

Most of these tests are moronic. I'm not a liberal.

Slightly to the left, little up, since I started this thread. Wonder what I answered differently. Probably a lot less "strongly"'s.

Alexander, Stein, and Anderson were the three good candidates last presidential rates, but did not get any coverage anywhere.
