I asked nicely for this thread to not be trolled, and they do it anyway. Incredibly frustrating to have an intelligent conversation and I think this is a an important topic. But then, they do just what Trump would have done. They imitate their leader's bad habits which is going to be a big issue for us.
Any in depth study of Soviet/Russian politics includes their use of "
компрома́т" It's pronounced
"Com-pro-mat" with the accent on the last syllable and it essentially means compromising evidence. We would call it leverage or even black mail here in the USA, but it almost never involves money. If you have
компрома́т then you have power over the next guy. But then, they might have it over you as well in a osrt of detente. If you have enough
компрома́т then you get to write your own ticket, much like Putin has done. However, having some great
компрома́т over the wrong person can also get you killed.
Why is this important?
Putin now has a huge amount of
компрома́т on Comrade Trumpsky. He's sucked him in to the Soviet (not really the Russian) way of politics. No,
компрома́т does not have to be true. You have to be able to convince others that it's true. In that regard, Comrade Trumpsky has embraced the ideology of smearing your opponents with
компрома́т in hopes that the stupids will buy into it. They obviously have.
Think about this for a moment... Comrade Trumpsky will be reticent to oppose Putin on anything now. Why? All Putin has to say is that Comrade Trumpsky encouraged them to hack the RNC and all hell will break loose here in the USA. True or not, that kind of declaration would have far reaching consequences not only on the White House, but on the RNC who have traditionally been the biggest critics of the Russkies.
As I pointed out,
компрома́т works both ways. Unfortunately, Comrade Trumpsky has nothing on Putin at this point. Ничего, пустяк и кое-что, точно таком порядке! (Nothing, nada and squat in precisely that order!)
Russia conquered USA without firing a single shot lmao.
Precisely. We always conceived of this involving a war on several fronts. Cubans from below and Russia from the west and the North Pole. Red Dawn was a movie based on those fears. But all it took was a шут, a "shoot" or a joke of a man to bluff his way into power and then promote Russia above all else.
FWIW, I majored in Russian at the UofF during the cold war. They have always fascinated me, but I never expected anything like Comrade Trumpsky.
