Confusing

Cockadoodledoo

You’re going to get me!
Does anybody else find reality confusing with all the religious, atheistic, scientific, etc, claims.....all wanting agreement from the student?

Well, reality is confusing, Reality even more so. But the degree of "wanting agreement" varies quite a bit, methinks.

Science presents research findings and moves on. You can agree or disagree; scientists are happy to discuss the findings if you want, but they're generally not focused on gaining converts.
Religion is all about gaining converts, but it's not a research modality, so it's claims are unsubstantiated.
Atheism makes no claims, it's just an epistemic default position.

I used to find it confusing, but Christ clarifies...

But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift. Therefore He says:

“When He ascended on high,
He led captivity captive,
And gave gifts to men.”

(Now this, “He ascended”—what does it mean but that He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth? He who descended is also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.) And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. Ephesians 4:7-16

Not confusing as long as I remember the story of the blind men and the elephant.

Sorry, but how does Christ clarify? Was there some research project I missed? Were the results tested and peer reviewed?
I don't think this christian clarity is a product of critical analysis. I think it's a matter of faith -- belief without evidence.

In fact, actual evidence this Christ even existed is pretty thin; His teachings even more so.

That story only works for me if I replace "blind men" with "a bunch of different humans, whether male, female, intersex, blind, deaf, or whatever" and replace "elephant" with "the entire universe and all of its aspects." :D

You must be a religious student, then.

I'm don't understand your meaning. Could you clarify?

Sorry, misread your post, composed a nonsensical reply, reread your post and erased reply. But when I replied to InChrist my deleted reply somehow was resurrected and included.

Maybe it was a miracle?!

To me, reality isn't so much confusing as it's uncertain. It's uncertain we're not all brains in vats, it's uncertain there's a god, it's uncertain what came before the Big Bang, it's uncertain how life arose... But it's not confusing.
