I would say instead that some believers conduct themselves as they think Christ would expect them to behave.

You conduct yourself in the manner that is becoming of someone who has a particular faith in Christ, and who holds particular views of Christ. I conduct myself in a manner that is aligned with most of the values with which I was raised, minus the religious impulse. Live and let live and do no harm to any person. This is the place from which I start.
