Cops Love To Bully & Assault Civilians

The opposition will often seize upon
a detail to decry as false, & use this
to rail against the bulk of claims.
This bespeaks fanaticism.

Assassinating Iowans is not the answer.

Nor is going all Fred Phelps on them after they've been assassinated.

What about the Power of Prayer?

Police officers across the U.S. kneel, pray alongside protesters

You know, I really have to say it -- you and I, one living in the US and one in Canada, have wildly different experiences. Maybe I'm not observant enough, but I see so very little of that here.

it is in Canada .. but not as bad .. the mentality is very similar though .. the force tends to attract control freaks .. to generalize .. but it is a significantly high number .. more than 50% have control issues of one sort or another .. we see this in the incidents .. but also just anecdotally .. but in my case enough anecdotes to generate a small study .. women I know or have known .. many close personal friend .. dating cop .. goes well for 6 months .. a year .. and the demon comes out... to the point where it is kind of a saying .. as in Friend Jane mentiones new BF over cocktail .. Lovely .. tell me all about it .. "Well" Jane says reservedly .. "He is a Cop" knowing and wincing because she already knows ... like "What" havn't we been over this ... 'Yeah .. but ---- " Right .. and way one too many times so much that its like a jingle ... .. Canada has better control over the reigns .. the police not as well protected against abuse of power as in the US.

The underlying problem in both nations is the move towards a police state ... legislation that infringes on liberty on the increase ... putting police and civilians in contact with each other more often .. this dissonance that most people do not recognize .. the loss of freedoms ... say privacy for example . in Canada .. if they stop you for anything they can give you a test for alcohol and pot/drugs .. ..and folks say well yeah but we are keeping dangerous folks off the roads .. and so taking away liberty and increasing police power and the power of the State is justified Right ?

Well .. no .. it hasn't been justified .. and that is the problem .. and when folks get targeted for persecution and punished .. for an activity they feel is an essential freedom .. but no one asked them if it was OK to take that freedom away .. that cognitive dissonance will produce an extreme reaction in a certain percentage of the population ... and this can be directed at the police ... well deserved unfortunately .. errand boys for the state at some point are responsible for what they do .. Right !? .. but most of the blame is The State" having too much power .. and more power corrupts more...

Utilitarian justification for Law is an anathema to the Founding Principle - Constitutional Republic .. ... and the Charter ... bless Daddy Trudeau's heart ..who is rolling over in grave over what a Nazi and disgrace to everything he stood for his son has become.

There's got to be a better way.

A civil war in the name of gundamentalism is not the answer.

Second Commandment absolutism is not the answer.

Why not look to history?

The solution is not hard to grasp. We need to stop training police to be law enforcers primarily, and train them to be public servants primarily and law enforcement secondarily. But unfortunately, our culture has become so ensconced in it’s desire for violent retribution against “evil-doers” and so callous about each other’s welfare that it’s very unlikely that we will ever make that change happen.

And then there is the divorce rate for cops, maybe it is not due to odd hours.

Now apply this to some of your other attitudes.

Dude! Get on topic!

Have you ever heard of the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America?

When it comes to our interactions with the police, the First Amendment is crucial.

It's about Freedom of Religion.

Remember, policing, guns, and war are religious issues.

That's why ministers like the Rev. Rep. John Lewis are allowed to speak out freely.

Dude! Get on topic!
Apparently some are deeply offended by a thread
addressing violent corrupt cops who attack civilians.
So they hijack the thread with posts to propagandize
cops as heroes & martyrs.
I can't stop derailment, but I can out-post anyone on RF.

For cop worshipers, here's another of your heroes......

Cop puts handcuffed woman in car parked on tracks.
Train hits car. Woman survives with severe injuries.
Cop had a long record of incompetence, but that
was acceptable to his superiors.

Cop assaults & injures a man who was cooperating.
All fellow cops approve of this. All are corrupt thugs.

Innocent man shot in the back.
He's entering his home carrying sandwiches.
Cop's lawyer lies that man pointed a gun at the cop.
How then was he shot in the back?

Driver is pulled over for speeding in Georgia.
Dumb & vicious cop arrests driver.
Why?
Driver has a Canadian driver license.
Cop says it's illegal to drive in USA without
a US driver license.

New Mexico is notorious for abusing civilians.
Homeless man is illegally camping.
Cops shoot him in the back.
Then sic dog on him.
He dies.
Taxpayers pay $6,000,000.
Murderous cops remain on the job.
No cop there is ever prosecuted for murder.

Innocent man is on fire after crash.
He's badly injured.
Multiple cops haul him out, & severely beat
him because they're angry at someone else.
Cops & their union claimed they were punching
& kicking him to put the flames out. Really?

Heroes who remained cops even after this.
It tells us what standards cops are held to...or not.

Mississippi cops regularly torture people for many years.
In this case, they torture 2 men, including beating, tasing,
sexual assault, & shooting one in the mouth.
To add insult to injury, cops then frame the victims for a
crime of drug possession.
I wonder how the cop lovers will defend these guys?

SWAT teams....supposed to be elite cops.
Yet they often get addresses wrong, & raid the wrong homes.
Innocent people are abused & often die.

Cops go to house for a "welfare check".
They prowl around the house in the dark
without announcing themselves.
Innocent woman inside hears the prowlers,
& gets a weapon.
Cop sees her thru a window, shoots, & kills her.
