We're not obsessed with wars. We simply detest unprovoked invasions and war crimes. We don't like it when children are kidnapped, tortured, raped, murdered, etc. Sad that some hate the west so much that they're willing to sweep such atrocities under the rug.

If I recall my social studies class correctly, Communism/socialism technically dates back to at least Ancient Greece, with many well known philosophers debating or pondering such ideas.

"Woke" (going by the original meaning) means being aware of systematic injustices. How is that not political?
Sure, real communism, but the problem is that conservatives dismiss and attack universal healthcare (which practically every first world nation other than America has adopted) and other social programs as "communism". It's silly to pretend that not having every single thing privatized and for profit is a slippery slope into the gulag.
I'll give you the communists but socialism, especially democratic socialism and social democracy are widely successful political/economic systems. Social democracy is responsible for all the amenities European countries have and the US with its late stage capitalism lacks, namely functioning social security and a functioning health care system.
