Coronavirus precaution overkill ( maybe)

Sitting in a motel room, watching old Gunsmoke episides. I've got all the fawcetts and knobs covered in plastic sandwich bags, all the furniture covered in garbage bags, and the bed covered with the rain fly from a tent ( using my own sleeping bag rather than the covers ).

Also have the remote inside of a sandwich bag.

This is after spaying everything with hydrogen peroxide.

Now I can relax.

I have 6 weeks of evidence that eating cheese doesn't cause covid.

Idk: a lot of Chinese people are lactose intolerant and the virus got its start there anyway. . .

Whenever I get packages now, you know the usual UPS or FedEx stuff, I let it sit a day before opening it, thinking that it will kill any germs.
i sent my brother something and told him to leave it in the yard in the sun for a cpl of days before opening it, and then throw the box away right away without bringing it in the house.

If this were a joke thread, I could go on and on. But a serious thread?

I have to say that anything psychotic I'm doing is on the advice of an MD friend of mine. So if treating a visit to the supermarket the same as working all day in a hospital ward full of COVID-19 patients is psychotic, then I'm a follower of a psychotic not a leader.

It's subjective. Where I'm at there are still people who think a face mask is more of less the same as a tin foil hat.

I do nothing. I still invite friends and relatives over. We shake hands, hug, act normally. I do no extra cleaning. Any mail goes exactly where it has always gone.

Better to be safe than sorry.

I like Gunsmoke. There is something simple and pleasing about the moral issues on that show.

Otherwise I wear my mask in public and keep my social distance. That's about it.

All our hotels are shut. That's basically why.

But the US is a big place. If you are in an area where it hasn't yet arrived, you probably lose little by carrying on normally, I imagine. Just need to pay attention for when it shows up.

Exactly. It's nice to live in such an uncomplicated world for an hour here and there.

Sensible. If everyone did those two things, neurotics like me probably wouldn't feel the need for all the other stuff. :p

Safe in the knowledge that you're not a covidiot with no symptoms passing on a virus that will kill other people, both covidiots and the innocent victims of that idiocy. Keep on being psychotic. I went to a shop today for the first time in weeks. Thankfully it's not owned by covidiots and no covidiots were shopping there. One out / one in to the shop, trollies and baskets wiped after each shopper, arrows directing shoppers around the aisles, two meter distance tapes on the shop floor, staff at aisle meeting points to maintain social distancing, perspex screens on the tills, no cash accepted, all staff with masks...and as a bonus, I won't have been killed by a covidiot.

Interesting how such behavior would be classified by medical professionals as mental illness only a few months ago. Now, it is considered abnormal if one does not behave in such a way.

That's the problem with doing this kind of research in isolation. Small sample size...
