No this was based on comparative anatomy.

There are all sorts of mammals of varying degrees of aquaticness(?) that are familiar to everyone: Water voles, muskrats, beavers, minks, polar bears, otters, sea lions, seals, manatees and dugongs. Why did none of these occur to the author of the video? I should think the notion of a land animal taking to the water would be a no-brainer.

I agree with the conclusions of the article.

Of course you do. The author speculated his way through the whole thing. I could see if the person had an actual understanding of evolution but right out the gate he proves he doesn't so it's no wonder you agree with him.

Whether every word or idea is correct doesn't matter.

Sure it matters. Why wouldn't it? It doesn't matter if it's his opinion or not. What matters is that he approached a subject and attempted to speak on it because he read a biased and ill-informed wiki article. He appeared to base his whole understanding on evolution from that. What matters is he attempted to put it out there for all to see. He doesn't even know that he doesn't know and that's dangerous if you're posting your view and wanting others to take you seriously.

It doesn't appear to be a peer reviewed scientific article, just someones conclusion from the scientific data. It makes sense to me.

What "scientific data"? It appears that he didn't even attempt to present any. His conclusion was based on his ignorance or in conjunction with the ignorance from the wiki he listed.

No it just goes to show that you have no understanding as to how closely related, genetically, to primates we really are. No one knows this better than biologist conducting HIV/AIDS research. No other animal on the planet is capable of contracting and spreading it to humans other than certain species of primates. This type of virus is easily spread from them to us because of our genetic similarity.
