Well then I feel like my time isn't a total waste... even if you don't agree with anything I say. Learning is never a bad thing.

When did I say I disagree with you?

I didn't want to assume either way.

I didn't want to assume either way.
I'm sure we must disagree about something.

Thank you!Probably. But still, the point is I like your posts. Very informative.
Is the Theory of Evolution some type of modern alternate theory compared to ancient wisdom? . .
What are you talking about? Is the Theory of Evolution some type of modern alternate theory compared to ancient wisdom? . .
An introduction to evolution
The definition
Biological evolution, simply put, is descent with modification. This definition encompasses small-scale evolution (changes in gene frequency in a population from one generation to the next) and large-scale evolution (the descent of different species from a common ancestor over many generations). Evolution helps us to understand the history of life.
There is an illustration at the link I provided but think of it this way...Your dad and your mom passed on some of their genetic traits to you. You and your wife will pass on your traits to your children and in turn they will pass on their traits along with the traits of their respective husband or wife to their children...and so on and so on.....
Evolution is not about the "origin" (per se) of life. It's helpful to remember that as you enter into the various evolution debates here at RF.
No real confusion among the informed. So you've noticed the confusion between....
Origin of species....
Origin of life....
Genesis....
No real confusion among the informed.
- Origin of the Species-Biological Evolution (Observable fact backed by empirical evidence)
- Origin of Life-Abiogenesis (Likely hypothesis)
- Genesis- Writings of certain desert nomads from approximately 2400 years ago. (Myths contained therein likely originated from older Sumerian myths.)
genesis -------- known 3000 year old fiction stolen from sumerians and egyptions as nomadic hebrews had nothing of there own. The jews wrote it and jews call it a fable. composed from 5 unknown authors over century's, its a compilation that makes genesis a patchwork that confuses people to this day.
The written Torah is likely only 2400 years old, if that.
According to the Talmud, much of the contents of the Tanakh (written Torah) were compiled by the "Men of the Great Assembly" around 450 BCE. The orthodox canonization was completed around 200 CE.
So it is reasonable to assume that the various writings of Genesis were combined around 450 BCE.

genesis predates the torah, that is when it hit its last final version we have today.
Documentary hypothesis - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
this is what most scholars and historians follow today
The documentary hypothesis assumes that the text of the Torah as preserved can be divided into identifiable sources that predate its compilations by centuries, the Jahwist (J) source being the oldest, dating to as early as the 10th century BCE, along with the Elohist (E), the Deuteronomist (D), and the Priestly source (P), dating to the 8th to 6th centuries. The final compilation of the extant text is dated to either the 6th or 5th century BC.

Well if you were here, I would buy you a beer and we could discuss it
Now back to the Creationist understanding of the Theory of Evolution...
