The results of the 2012 election can be summed up in one sentence which I call the "Cry of the Sheeple":

"I ask not what I can do for my country, I ask what my countries government can do for me?!"

Did I say that? It seems the sheeple are in control.

In this capitalistic country....40trillion dollars are controlled by 5% of the population.
That's up from 8trillion held in the 1980's.

Now THAT's control!!!!!!!

If I pay taxes, then I am going to ask what can my country do for me, my family, and all of it's citizens, and the rest of the world. As for this election, I can say the government did allow for me to have insurance for a couple of years, and the auto-bailout saved my dad's job. The auto-bail out not only saved jobs, but created jobs that are stimulated by the auto-industry, which saved communities.
And then you have Romney who pledged to push for a constitutional ammendment to define marriage as one man and one woman, and to launch a presidential commission to investigate groups and individuals found to be harassing supporters of traditional marriage. Or who wanted deep tax cuts across the boards. Or reform medicare into a voucher program.
Yes, it really is what can the government do for me and the nation, and as someone who is funding the government I have the right to ask it.
But as for what I can do for it, challenging it, questioning it, petitioning it, and voting are a pretty good start.

Just for reference....has anyone seen a documentary film....
"Too Big to Fail"

They had to hire actors and reduce the events to fit the two hour movie.

But it make s a sharp point that still hangs over our heads like a sword on a thread.

If that is true, if the capitalist elite really control things, then how did the sugar daddy BHO win re-election?

BHO didn't bail out the auto industry he bailed out the unions, while throwing under the bus the secured backers. Even so, as a tax payer, I'm not concerned with what government can do for me, I am concerned with what I can do for my Self as a free individual.

I guess people are only considered "sheeple" when your candidate loses. When your candidate wins, it's "Patriotic" and "the will of the real American people." No bitterness whatsoever.

Do you watch...Doomsday Preppers....?

Sure...some participants are a bit 'out there'....
but some of them are hard core....with understanding.
and they know how to make bombs!

Government in control?.....never has been.
Government as an influence?
Roosevelt....yes.
JFK....of course.

Roosevelt told the ceo's in his day....you did it....you will fix it.
JFK....'get out of Cuba'...and they did.

Since then all I see are puppets and preachers of the politically 'correct'.

Actually, even before the election, and now after the election; I consider all Fox watchers, tea-baggers, and most GOPers as 'sheeple'.
Its not whether they won or lost, or even which way they voted. Its their deep beliefs founded on lies and/or ignorance.

As someone who lives near a city with three Chrysler plants, that bailout not only saved all of those jobs, it saved and even created jobs throughout a city that depends on Chrysler workers (who are known to be big spenders) to drive the local economy.
And you have to think, why would unions be important enough to bailout when they are statistically a very small and relatively weak and insignificant group? If unions were the goal, then right-to-work bills would not be getting passed.
And as a tax payer, why are you not concerned about where your money is going, and what the governing system is doing? It many cases it has a very strong impact on if you have the choice to live as a free individual or not.
