That sounds similar to Southern Baptists, where the Devil is always waiting in the shadows and ready to pounce as soon as you let your guard down.

1 Peter 5:8-9:
"Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. 9 Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are." (NLT)

There you have it from the highest authority on this adversary.......he has been known to play with his food before he devours it.

Hi Folks...

lol....let me assure you all first - according to Christ directly - there is no such individual as this "satan" character - there is no "source of evil" that is somehow opposed to my Father - IMPOSSIBLE - as all of Creation flows FROM my Fathers Mind - evil He said comes FROM THE WORLD OF MAN ALONE - their ignorance and Self deciept ;)

As to "jehovahs witnesses" - yes indeed - they ARE directly prohibited form such internet forums a s this - indeed, they are directly prohibited form many many NORMAL activities - some even quite bizarre prohibitions placed upon them....I take this from EX jehovahs witneses who have left and now speak FREELY and openly giving us their truth and version directly from the inside...

http://thejehovahswitnesses.org/things-jehovahs-witnesses-cant-do.php

It wont let me copy and paste - and it s too long to type it all out lol - but check out especially Rule 31 - clearly states such things as public discussion of faith with none believers is PROHIBITED.... Those who post here then are actually going against their faith as decreed by their "elders" - and those others may well have left here first rather than being "found out" and thereby risk being kicked out and shunned totally for their perceived misdeeds....

As I say some of the rules are just - ridiculous - so ridiculous - that out of a world wide population now approaching 7 BILLION - they insist that just a handful - 144000 is it ? - will be able to follow all these rules perfectly - and only these few Souls are the "true chosen elect"... The rest of us - totally screwed they say - and that is why they will not associaite or have intimate dealings with and outright forbid anything that is none JW...

That is a good list. It is also posted there that the people make up some of those rules. Some of them are not official directives from the top.
2 Timothy 3:13
It might be noted here that "evildoers" in the Bible just means to be led wrong. Evil means wrong. That means a perfectly fine individual might consider he or she might be in that group, according to Jehovah. Yes, I actually do realize I might be too. Luke 8:18 1 Corinthians 10:12
Another one some JWs made up is that you should not eat fortune cookies. Another one is beware of used items, they might have been owned by a person who [ate fortune cookies]. Haha. I mean an item might have belonged to someone who also owned a Ouija board or an eight ball.

They don't. Look it up in the interlinear Hebrew and Greek.
The leaders of the Jehovah's Witnesses call disobeying them evil behavior. They say that a person is granted life when he endures with them doing good to them.

Me, personally, I've yet to find or see this "roaring lion" that is "looking for someone to devour." That, and lions very rarely hunt people to eat, not unless they are really sick or food becomes very scarce. It's a baseless fear, overall, because if you are attacked by a lion, it's pretty much going to be because you were where you shouldn't have been, and it really didn't like you being there (or you provoked it, intentionally or unintentionally). It's like the fear of snakes, spiders, rats, and other "creepy crawlies (other humans have always been our greatest threat - kind of like how out in the wild an adult bear's only real danger is pretty much only other bears)." But, fear can be very useful in achieving various ends.

Peter's warning about the prowling adversary was obviously just that....a timely warning, still as urgent today as it was back then....now, even more so. His likening the devil to a lion roaring is appropriate because a lion's roar can be heard from a long distance, instilling fear in its prey. Its predatory characteristics are also appropriate, and as you mentioned, being in the wrong place sometimes put you at greater risk. The Bible also warns us about being where we ought not to be and also in company with the wrong sort of people, who may take us to those places where we ought not be, even in our own minds.

Every action begins with a thought and the Bible recommends careful consideration to the possible outcomes of our actions. Taking notice of God is a wise course.....ignoring his warnings never ends well.

Please take no notice of the exaggerations posted by that individual because whatever she posts about JW's is twisted to make her defection from our ranks sound reasonable to herself. It's called justification and it bears little resemblance to the truth of any matter. Twisted half-truths always sound more damning than the whole truth.

Please direct your inquiries to JW's directly...we are more than happy to answer any sincere questions.

Oh please. You should learn what, "thou shalt not bear false witness against your neighbor" means. Or @Deeje, am I not your neighbor?

That's being territorial, not predatorial. Lions have attacked people because they can be very territorial, but it is so rare for them to "devour" people that it isn't a good metaphor.

True story.....
In 1969, Angus McGonagall was on safari in Africa.
He was attacked & eaten by 3 females & 2 cubs.
Being a small carcass by Scottish standards (only 300#),
most of the pride was occupied elsewhere. But they
took notice of the unlucky 5 lions, who suffered for
several days with the Zimbabwe 2 step (the local name
for agonizingly painful projectile Hershy squirts).
It was a learning experience for all.

I have heard that sharks and crocs also can have a violent bout of 'indigestion' after consuming human flesh

.....it doesn't stop them doing it though....apparently they don't learn the lesson from their neighbors, who fail to pass on the information.

"Predatorial" happens when they are hungry...."territorial" happens when they see an intruder.

If the things posted had not been said a hundred times already, it may be excusable. But the rant is sadly never over. o_O
No obsession is healthy for the mind and some people need to move on instead of being stuck in a fog of bad feelings and continual self justification.
Feeding an obsession never allows the one to overcome it.

May I ask if English is your first language? I am somewhat confused by your phrasing sometimes.
