Exactly! I wasn't blaming the government of Canada but when someone from Canada talks about all their social programs they might want to at least give a nod to the fact that if it wasn't for the United States military power, influence, and protection, their current way of life that they enjoy would not be a reality.
Maybe if we hadn't spent the multiple trillions on two crazy wars, then just maybe we could have afforded at least a fraction of that to help a people called "Americans". And, btw, I do indeed blame Hillary for her voting yes on that, and I felt that way from the get-go.
But no matter how one plays this, the reality is that the Canadians have chosen to better take care of their own people who voted for politicians that put these programs into place. After all, polls taken there about five or so years ago found that the Saskatchewan doctor who devised their universal medical coverage several decades ago is the single most popular person in Canadian history.
BTW, as unpatriotic as this sounds, I feel much more at home socially and politically there than I do in the States.
