Dating Site For White People Only

A dating site aimed exclusively at one race (whether white, black or anything else) strikes me as distasteful.

Then again, there's a lot about dating sites that strikes me as distasteful.

I guess I'll just head back to my cave and grumble to myself.

I've seen plenty of mainstream dating sites that let you filter results by race. I'm trying to figure out what the difference is between that and this. I came up with a couple:

- those mainstream sites enable people of one race to select a different race, while this site doesn't facilitate anything but white people dating other white people.

- on a mainstream site, even if you filter your own search results, you may still get contacted by people outside your desired race(s). The only way to even partly prevent it is to put something discouraging contact from races you don't want to hear from... and then it will be out for everyone to see.

I think it's sensitive , If it's about religion I may agree because some religion forbid to marry from others (religions), but color or race,I disagree .

Just curious if they consider me as white man or reject me because I am not white enough to sign up to this website lol :D

You should give it a try Godobeyer. You may find your soul mate.:)

I met my wife on a mainstream dating site. I didn't put any filter on race. Ended up marrying a beautiful woman of Asian heritage. Its been great. Going on 4 years now. I have no problem with a person having preferences, but I do think you may miss out on meeting a really wonderful person by doing so.

Other people's preferences are no business of mine.

Although I suspect that some people would much rather that others should be forced to pretend that they have no preferences, but - in reality - those preferences are only hidden under a guise.

I personally don't find darker skin to be too attractive. But that's just it, the colour. Albino "black"? Works for me. I just like paleness.

I don't find it racist. As others have said there are other sites exclusively for those of other races so I don't see the difference. People are attracted to different things physically and who is anyone to say it is wrong for a person to feel they are solely attracted to those of the same race? Some of us may find it strange or that they are missing out on meeting certain other people, but we all have to admit, we all have our "types". just because some of us aren't as concerned with skin color doesn't mean that we don't have body types, or hair colors, or so on that we do and do not care for. We break people down into all kinds of things when it comes to attraction, both physically and mentally. I wouldn't be surprised if there were dating sites for Liberals, Conservatives, vegetarians, athletes, comic book fans, bibliophiles (one I may have used in my single days), Trekkies, and more.

I regularly see TV ads for a site for black singles to meet each other.
Funny that this one never made the news.

Eh... People have different preferences. I don't have any as far as racial preferences go, but I know some people are more picky. Nothing wrong with this, unless they start talking about keeping the race "pure"... Then it might start to raise my hackles. ;)

Eh, I'm old and my chin looks doubled from my smile but thanks for the compliment that I'm better looking than you. I've been wondering.

The subtle, unspoken point I was trying to make, I suppose, is that if I applied to this website and said I was 50% Hispanic, would they let me in? Not that I'd care. Just blowing hot air. ;)

A friend is 50% Mexican.
She has blond hair & blue eyes.
I suspect that any fetch'n female would gain entry to a dating site trying to make a buck.
Btw, you're not old.
You don't even collect Social Security, ya whippersnapper!

Note to all:
I don't normally comment upon a poster's appearance.
I'd rather know people by their posts, ie, their minds.
But this thread seemed a rare occasion to deviate.

I think it probably does have a prejudice undertone. If someone simply prefers white people to black people, then there's an ethnicity function on every dating website under the sun. Having a 'white people only' one smacks of something unpleasant.
